To be recession-proof, your career requires that you have up-to-date fundamentals and that you know all the trends and understand them.
What this does is it lays the groundwork for you, so if you need to talk to other people in different organizations, you can hold yourself accountable. I mean. Often when people work in an organization for any period of time, they become rusty on the second and third things that are important to the organization because they are asked to focus on certain elements of their expertise. Now, you have to make sure the basics are in place and that you understand the trends and learn about them in detail, even if that means taking an online course.
