Alila Mayakoba opens in Mexico: Book with 21,000 Hyatt points

The time has finally come: Alila Mayakoba is now open on Mexico’s dreamy Riviera Maya.
Alila Mayakoba, a points hotel that has excited us since it was first announced last year, is replacing the previously acclaimed Andaz resort. Last January, Hyatt said Andaz would undergo a year-long renovation before announcing it would be rebranded as Alila, a brand focused on sustainability, local culture and experiences.
Alila Mayakoba is now open, marking the brand’s entry into Latin America and the Caribbean.
Located slightly north of Playa del Carmen, this 60-acre hotel has 182 rooms, suites and villas, including rooms with plunge pools and even multi-level accommodations. If you really need space, the 4,574-square-foot Presidential Suite has three bedrooms, one with a private terrace and hot tub.
There are six bars and restaurants on site, including the return of Casa Amte, a fine-dining restaurant that existed when the hotel was an Andaz Hotel, a taqueria offering an intimate chef’s table dining experience, a beach club serving local comfort food, and more.
For Alila, health is always a priority, and Alila Spa offers treatments rooted in Mayan tradition. There are also modern fitness facilities and a variety of complimentary experiences such as yoga and breathing classes, spiritual rituals and holistic fitness programs. Paid experiences include fire ceremonies, bike tours, and even a ceremony that will take you to a hidden cenote to connect with yourself and the earth.

Alila Mayakoba is the newest addition to the Mayakoba resort and residential complex, which is also home to the Rosewood, Fairmont and Banyan Tree resorts. In addition to individual resorts, the area has an 18-hole golf course, a town square with restaurants, entertainment and shopping, and plenty of natural beauty to explore.
How to book Alirama Mayakba
Prices at Alila Mayakoba start at around $600 per night in the low season, but can easily reach over $1,000 during the high season. As a World of Hyatt Category 6 hotel, award night rates start at 21,000 points per night.
Currently, the resort is offering a special welcome offer for two guests, which includes pre-arrival assistance to help you plan a seamless journey, round-trip airport transfers, a choice of Ixchel Water Blessing or Tribal Soundscape experience, and spa sessions for stays until December 31.
