First Look: Inside LGA’s Capital One Landing

Travelers take note: Capital One Landing has arrived at New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA), and TPG got a sneak peek at the new space ahead of its February 18 opening.
Unlike the usual airport lounges, Capital One Landing Center focuses on hospitality, restaurant-quality food and quick service. The space was inspired by the Capital One Lounge and José Andres’ restaurant.
As the second Capital One landing site in the issuer’s portfolio (the other is at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)), here’s what to expect from this dynamic new space.

Capital One Landing Lounge at LGA
Located in Terminal B near the bridge to Gates 11-31, LGA’s Capital One Landing Area is approximately 12,500 square feet and features floor-to-ceiling windows offering sweeping views of New York’s iconic skyline.
Travelers will find amenities such as outlets at every seat, Wi-Fi, luggage nooks and five private bathrooms (each with changing tables). As a mom of a one-year-old, this is a huge advantage.
A 30-foot-tall mural on the wall, along with other artwork by local New York artists, is designed to evoke a sense of community and belonging.

With an expansive layout, tons of natural light and lush greenery throughout the space, Capital One Landing creates an elevated airport experience you won’t want to miss.

Guests can visit the space daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Capital One lands in LGA food
With a focus on food, Capital One has partnered with chef José Andrés to create a Spanish-style tapas experience for travelers.
When you walk in you can choose to sit at a table or grab a quick bite or drink from one of the two bars. At each bar, you’ll find meats, cheeses, small plates and desserts. The burnt cheesecake is a staple at José Andrés and is a must-try.

You can order a selection of craft cocktails or non-alcoholic mocktails. But if you want a specific drink, you can also ask the bartender to make it.

To experience Capital One’s full food and beverage service, each table will have a QR code, allowing guests to view and order snacks and drinks directly at their table.
For me, some menu standouts include carne asada with mojo, roasted carrots with spicy matcha sauce and sour cream, and chicken seasoned croquettes. Since these are small plates, you can sample some dishes or even the entire menu while you wait for your flight.

What really sets Capital One Landing apart is the quality and presentation of the food. It feels like you are in a restaurant instead of an airport.

Always striving to take the dining experience one step further, Capital One will continue to host daily rituals in its LGA space. A bar cart roams the space, offering travelers a food and cocktail experience. Depending on the day and time, daily rituals range from goat cheese caviar cones to tableside martinis.
I also tried the Absinthe Ceremony Cart, which had a selection of absinthe and customized décor. The beverage cart also offers some snack options, such as marinated olives and salsa chips.
I experienced lunch options, but LGA’s Capital One Landing Hotel will offer a variety of a la carte options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
How to enter LGA’s Capital One platform
Capital One Venture X Rewards credit card and Capital One Venture However, cardholders who spend at least $75,000 per calendar year can bring one free guest per visit.

In addition, the primary cardholder can pay an additional $125 annual lounge access fee for additional cardholders to continue to use Capital One Login and lounges.
If you have the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card or the Capital One Spark Miles for Business Card, you can enter the Capital One Landing and Lounges at a discounted rate of $45 per visit.
Please note, guests under 17 years of age must be accompanied by an eligible cardholder and receive a discounted rate of $25 per visit; children under 2 years old are free.
If you’re not a cardholder, you can enter Capital One Landings for $90 a time.
reserve
In addition to entering Capital One Landing with an eligible credit card, you can reserve up to two months in advance. So, for those who don’t like waiting in queues at airport lounges, make a reservation through the Capital One Dining Portal and select “Reserve.” From there, you can book a specific time, date, and party size directly within the app.
This is a significant advantage for eligible Venture X and Venture X Business cardholders.
Whether you make a reservation or walk-in, Capital One Landing guests will sit at a table. So you don’t have to spend 10 minutes walking around looking for a table or an empty seat.

bottom line
LGA’s Capital One Landing is a carefully curated space where travelers can indulge in a fine dining experience at the airport. The issuer is not yet finished adding to its lounge portfolio.
Capital One is continuing to expand its airport footprint with the opening of a new lounge at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), but an opening date has not yet been announced.
Overall, if you’re flying out of LGA’s Terminal B, especially as a Capital One cardholder, you need to check out this new space, which opened on February 18th.
