I will start working for a company on Monday and will be interviewing for different upcoming positions within the same organization. what do I do?
What started as an interview with one company on Monday is now interviewing for a different position within the same organization. what do I do? And, you know, what this is, that’s the difference between working for a local affiliate and working for a national company. It’s the same company, but one is local and one is at headquarters.
So instead of being ignored by the national team, they are still being interviewed and they really prefer working for the national team. Therefore, they were offered a position. But now, they have to go to national companies for interviews.
So, what do they do? Now, unless this is a franchise, assuming it’s McDonald’s local, McDonald’s corporate, I have no reason to think it is, but I’m just using an example. If this is a franchise business, you’re working for a local franchisee, no questions asked, and you don’t have to bring up the subject. But for the sake of argument, let’s pretend this is a bank and you work in a branch versus at the headquarters, which is different.
So, what I would say is, with your interview coming up, you know, I would try to expedite this first and then simply say, you know, I have received another job offer and I have accepted a job offer from your organization to work at the branch level, to work at the local branch. But I really prefer working in a company. So, I wanted to go ahead with the interview and not get rejected.
But I wanted to let you know in a polite way. Now, they might say we have to let the local branch know. This brings up another question for you, whether you are prepared to lose your local job for a chance of getting the job at headquarters.
Discuss it with them. Don’t hesitate to do so, especially since you’re talking about starting next Monday. You know, open the cards and listen to what they have to say.
Then make your choice. Because for now, there are risks and consequences. If you pretend you don’t have other job opportunities, they’re going to find them anyway because you’re in the database, you’re in the HR system.
You know, they make you start on Monday. They have, you know, documents
