This #short highlights a typical mistake job seekers make – assuming that a job description or job advertisement is accurate.

Pay attention to the signals in job descriptions and interviews

Do you think the ad or job description you saw is accurate? What do they really want? – Job descriptions are up to 80% accurate. Typically, they are institutional documents that were used to fill a previous position (such as this one) and are rarely updated.

You need to learn about the position early in the interview or screening call to understand what they are really looking for. Otherwise, you might find the wrong tree and never know.
