On Steam, there are now 7,800 games that utilize Generative AI.

A new report from Complete Human Media shows that nearly 20% of video games were released on Steam in 2025, using generative AI.
The report, which uses machine learning and generates AI recommendations for games, books, performances and movies, reports that approximately 7,818 games on Steam were disclosed using Generative AI. This represents 7% of the entire available steam bank. For games released on the platform in 2025, less than 20% (or about 1 out of 5 games) use AI, or at least do so.
Overall, games using AI have increased by nearly 700% according to the 2024 report on the same topic by Full Human Media.
Game Rant reports that the most popular game that makes AI disclosures generated is My summer cara vehicle simulation game that allows users to build, repair, adjust and perform maintenance on cars. According to Game RANT, it has sold 2.5 million units. The disclosure reads: “Developers describe how their games use AI to generate content: There are some AI-generated paintings in the main house. ”
It looks like humans have collected this data from Steam itself, which requires game developers to disclose the use of generated AI since January 2024. Valve Corporation, a company that owns Steam, did not immediately respond to Mashable’s request for comment.
Mixable light speed
Many commenters said in the Reddit topic about Complete Human articles that if the game uses AI, the game will automatically go to its “ignorant” list.
“We need to mark them so that they become an ignored category,” one user wrote.
Another user wrote: “More and more steam games are on the list I overlooked.”
Overall, even commenters who did not completely object to AI in the game wrote that they were shut down by the move.
Another commented: “When I realized they were using genai, many cool games on Steam Next Celebration I was immediately disappointed.
Although, many Steam users have nuances.
“In today’s day, it’s not surprising. Everyone in every company is driving AI usage, and it’s not surprising that the gaming industry is driving it as well,” one user commented on Reddit. “AI assets are easy to spot so far because you’ve no doubt known, but I’m on ‘all AI and agreeing about what it’s payable. I don’t think I mind using simple things like UI elements or unit cards, simple stuff.”
