Dating and job interviews: They have a lot in common

Jeff Altman, Big Game Hunter

Do you remember your first blind date or a fix?

Your friend tells you something great about the person. How wonderful are they? Handsome or gorgeous look. Very successful.

Maybe you are a teenager and your friends set up their siblings.

Going to a job interview is like a blind date. Each of you is told that the other is great (recruitment staff) and you meet them. . . Well, sometimes it’s love, sometimes it’s not.

So, like a blind date, you want to be yourself and want to create a great first impression. After all, it’s hard to find love if you don’t create a huge first impression.

Professionally, I tell people that 60% of the job to be done before you step into your employer’s door is getting the job done because each of you think they have something that other people want.

20% of people convince each other that you are told it is true. 20% is completely subjective.

So it is important to create strong first impressions and desires like the ones before the first date.

In a job interview, just like a date, the first ten minutes are crucial. . . If it is almost unattractive, it will be difficult to create later and be hired. So thank them for taking the time to talk to you and asking them to talk to you about the work and what you can do to help them, thus making the initial 10 minute calculation.

First ask this job at almost any level because it allows your potential employer to describe what they are actually looking for in new employees at the start of the interview, so you can customize the answers to their questions based on your own (most people make a mistake rather than talking about what they do, not talking about what the employer or dating car does). Without connecting what you do to what they care about, you might have a boring date.

Just like dating, there is a question whether you have some questions. Since you have started the interview by asking about this job, you can’t ask the job right now, so be prepared for some great questions for yourself (if you can’t ask any questions, please order “No BS questions, you should ask questions in any interview: They want your honest answers.

Then, like a date with good behavior, remember to thank you for your attention and tell them that you have had a great time!
