Today’s show is about keeping your job search confidential.

Good morning, it was Jeff Altman, the big hunter. It’s Monday morning at 9 a.m. Eastern, which translates to BS-free job search advice. At this time, I want to spend about 15 minutes talking to you about certain elements of hunting because for me it doesn’t have to be difficult, difficult, painful, and even takes so long.

Yes, the skills required to find a job are different from the skills required to complete the job. But more importantly, the frequency of job searches you make mistakes. So what I did with this show, another of my shows, also called Job Radio, also called iTunes, but available on the network of WebTalkradio.net and other podcast directories.

The way I try to use a podcast is to talk to you, so I can give you BS job search advice. So I can give you direct and sharp information that will help you search so that you don’t hurt yourself and can work faster. Now, today’s show will be brought to you by two sponsors.

So instead of posting a resume on the work committee, I’m not putting myself in danger, I think I’ll talk to you about some alternatives that you need to use more frequently when looking for a job for others. Now, the first thing is that many working committees give you the opportunity to post your resume, but with an additional upgrade, which allows you to hide your name and hide your email address when you publish. Now, this is getting people to contact you by email and use this long and obscure email address to contact you, but it hides your identity.

Now, why I first came up with an episode with my client many years ago and they told me the two positions they wanted to fill. I’m asking about this situation, so how is the work available? I said, well, we’re looking for people in different roles on one of the working committees. I won’t mention what it is.

We saw their resume there. So, all we are going to do is start looking for their alternatives. And if we find a replacement before we find a job, we will let it go.

Now, finding a job and putting your name there really puts you at risk. It’s like telling you the wrong person in the office you’re looking for a job and they happen to go to your manager because they want your job and or leave your resume on the Xerox machine, like it happens with the Xerox and the people with the fax resume or email resume. You know, you found your resume on the fax machine, or the resume you left in the copier, and then look at it, management takes you to their office and get fired.

You will talk to you. You will be warned, who needs it? Therefore, it is best to hide your identity anywhere by paying a modest amount to cover up your name and email address. So, this is the number one.

The second place is that many of us or many of us are very active in using LinkedIn to find a job. So one thing you need to do is to make sure you don’t send people one of the automatic notifications about the updated person before you update LinkedIn to improve your profile. Why? Because if you are like most people, what you do is set your default settings in a way that makes people notify when they update, and you may contact someone in your office, or even connect with your manager or boss’s boss.

Therefore, you don’t want them to be activated. After all, there is a search tool that businesses use, and recruiters use a search tool called Entelo Entelo. When a person’s profile is one of those who are actively viewing, they have advanced features that will notify us.

One of these standards, standards, or the criteria they use is whether a person has just recently updated his profile. So all you need to do is go to the privacy controls. And the way to do this is, you want to go to Account and Settings, which is where the image in the upper right of your current version of LinkedIn.

You go to the drop-down and go to Privacy and Settings. In the middle and bottom, there is an area called privacy controls. Again, in the current version, it is the first item there to turn on or off the active broadcast.

So, turn them off. So, this way, someone who may cause your problem will not notify you that the update has been completed. So, this is the second thing you want to do.

The next step you need to do is be careful about what is displayed online. So if you join one of an online job search group, make sure you say we can hide the badge from our LinkedIn profile. If this is your new group, why expose it to the day? It is a really easy way to be sure that you are looking for a job.

The next thing is not to use your company email address for your resume. No one emails you in the office. After all, when you stop and think, you don’t control the keywords of the server, which are usually searching for.

Organizations usually block certain domains and send them to the administrative area where you are notifying the management that you are looking for a job. So first, make sure you use your personal email address to perform all communications. No phone number to your office number.

Let them go into your phone so you don’t get into an awkward situation where you’re talking to someone at work. So you’re kind of tied there. And, in fact, you need to talk to them.

So, let them call your cell phone instead of a desk phone, you can simply say, put up with me for a second. Let me go to a place where I have a certain degree of privacy. Or, can you hold it for a second and close the door? So if you let them contact you by phone, it’s much more comfortable for you.

Now, some people will tell you purely searching for work at home. After all, companies do have policies set by employees who use their equipment for personal use. So to respect this, I don’t have to do it at home.

But I don’t use BlackBerry. I don’t know how to use the company’s phone. I will use my personal cell phone to contact.

Now, some people will tell you to schedule an interview. That’s the ideal situation. If you can do this, that’s great.

But some companies do not comply with this. After all, from their perspective, they try to be polite to their workers. And they don’t want them to interview and finish their work from 7am to 7pm.

They want people to keep their work-life balance. Therefore, you must manage the interview in a way that does not conflict with your professional schedule. So, you know, you can make long lunch hours occasionally.

You can conduct a telephone interview at lunch time. So you stay away from the desk, do your own time and do it on your personal phone. Do things according to these behaviors so that you can make your search more secretive.

The next thing I just want to mention is that, as important as network building is, you need to know the people you talk to to know if they are ally or enemies. So I inform your boss with the example of that person in the office that you are looking for and they start monitoring your email more actively to confirm any confirmation of yours. Because they also want to improve within the organization.

They are looking for advantages or advantages that will lift them in the mind of the hiring manager. So, realize that not everyone at every job is your friend. Even though you want to network, it may not be appropriate to connect with people in the workplace.

Now, as long as they aren’t too close to their boss, as long as they’re past or someone you’ve worked with you before, there’s no problem. However, it is a problem to have people you have been fired or interrupted in danger. Because when you need it, its impact can adversely affect your reference.

So you don’t want to put yourself in this position. So, another thing, simply because it is possible to cause conflict again, has something to do with social media. Telling people that you are looking for a position is one thing.

Putting it on social media is another matter because it can be searched. So that news says, hey, anyone knows the job. . . Or I’m looking for a position. Does anyone have a background that suits me? That’s what I’m going to do.

Remember that you may have contact with your boss, your boss’s boss, or someone who may have hurt you. So you don’t want to send a message like this. You want to do one-on-one, not through public broadcasts.

So these are a variety of ways you can search confidentially. And, if you find this information helpful in this show, please visit my website, thebiggamehunter.us.
