“Venarum Mundi” by the artist’s faith in XLVII

South African artist Faith XLVII (formerly here) has a delicate deconstruction of economic and geopolitical institutions. In “Venarum Mundi”, Faith XLVII uses discontinued currencies, maps and logos to weave together complex comments about value, boundaries and changing global power. Her intricate hand-sewn tapestries reimagine the boundaries of wealth, earth, and sea. Elaborate artworks have attracted attention to the structure, vulnerability of our reality, and the tensions inherent in immigration and territories. In every work, Faith XLVII questions the importance it produces – the signal of stability makes people obsolete.
“Venarum Mundi” is currently booking at Heron Gallery in San Francisco until tomorrow, until August 2!
