The Marriott offers several common cards for potential cardholders to choose from, ranging from no annual fee to $650. this Marriott Hotel Bonvoy Bevy American Express Card Sitting in the middle, the annual fee is $250.
This card lacks one feature we expect from a hotel credit card: free free nights every year on your account anniversary. This may make you wonder if it provides enough ongoing benefits to make annual salary pay year after year.
To increase your chances of obtaining approval for this card, TPG recommends applicants have a good credit score. In addition, there are some complex application restrictions that apply to Bevy, such as the rest of the Bonvoy lineup.
But if you qualify, let’s go deeper to determine if the Amex Marriott Bonvoy Bevy card has a place in your wallet.

Bonvoy Bevy Amex During the first six months of card membership, cardholders can earn 155,000 bonus points after purchasing $5,000. The offer ends on September 24.
According to TPG’s valuation for Marriott Points in August 2025, the value of every 155,000 points is $1,085.

- 125,000 points after spending $5,000 on the first three months of a card member

However, the current bonus will certainly meet the threshold of when we apply, which is any time the offer exceeds 85,000 points.
Remember that if you have similar Marriott products from the Starwood guest card for Chase or American Express, Amex’s restrictions limit your ability to collect new member bonuses. Check the card’s quotation details page to make sure you are eligible.

Bonvoy Bevy Amex Benefits
Where Bonvoy Bevy Amex What shines most is the privilege it provides (applicable terms):
- Marriott Pink Elite Identity: As long as you have a card, the main card members will receive a free Marriott Elite status. At the mid-term level of Bonvoy Marriott, the most valuable benefit of the Golden Status is upgrading to enhanced rooms, with hotel spending receiving a 25% bonus (available for eligible interest rates). While you can use many other hotel credit cards to extend your elite status to higher elite status, it is obviously not present on this card.
- Elite Night Points: Cardmembers receives 15 Elite Funding Format Night Credits per calendar year. You can stack this benefit with Marriott’s Small Business Card to quickly track your 30 elite nights. For reference, it takes 50 nights a year to get a Platinum Elite identity.
- Reward points for each stay: Earn 1,000 bonus Marriott Points whenever you book a qualified paid accommodation and join a Marriott Bonvoy property. The terms apply.
- Shopping protection: Purchases made with a card receive 90 days of purchase protection**, up to one year of extended warranty coverage*****With five years or less on the United States or its territory or property.
- Travel protection: The card provides travel delay insurance*, travel delays over 12 hours due to covered reasons as well as luggage insurance** insurance and secondary car rental loss and loss insurance. ***
- Free night rewards through annual spending: Members who make eligible purchases of at least $15,000 during the calendar year will receive free night rewards. This free night award is worthwhile at the event hotels (some hotels have hedge fees). This is more valuable than the free night certificate that comes with the lower Marriott Solitaire, which caps at 35,000 points. However, Marriott’s dynamic pricing may affect the ability to book some of these properties during peak travel dates.
Some other Bonvoy cards offer free nightbooks without any expenses, e.g. Marriott Hotel BonvoyBoundless® Credit Card (See rates and fees) (maximum value of 35,000 points, but can be from 15,000 points to 50,000 points) and Marriott Hotel (Maximum 85,000 points; job search fees are available in certain hotels; terms and conditions apply).
While these privileges offer some value, it is disappointing that every year, no free night rewards for the card account anniversary, along with other quality allowances (such as reimbursement of global admission fees or TSA Precheck application fees).

Win points on Bonvoy Bevy Amex
Here is what the Cavills can expect to earn through bevy:
- At a Marriott Hotel, every dollar is available in the eligible Bonvoy program for eligible purchases
- Of the first $15,000 a year purchased at restaurants in supermarkets around the world and in the United States, 4 points per dollar (and then spend 2 points after reaching this limit)
- Other qualified purchases of 2 points per dollar
Based on TPG’s August 2025 valuation, you’ll get a 4.2% return on your Bonvoy purchases, with a 2.8% annual return on the first $15,000 per year and 1.4% of all other purchases.

Redemption Points on Bonvoy Bevy Amex
There are many profitable ways to redeem your Marriott hotel. The most obvious and most valuable redemption is free hotel accommodation.
Marriott Bonvoy takes advantage of dynamic reward pricing, which means that the number of points required overnight in any property may vary depending on demand. If you are looking for the best deals for Marriott Point, the best thing to do is to find lower prices ahead of time and keep the dates flexible.
In addition to hotel accommodation, you can transfer Bonvoy points to airline partners, use them to cover flights, rental cars and cruises, or redeem them for merchandise and gift cards.
However, these options may be below the TPG August 2025 Marriott Point valuation at 0.7 cents per point, so we recommend using your points for Bonvoy stops wherever possible.

She occasionally considers transferring her points to one of a Marriott airline partners, but usually prefers to save her points.

Transfer points on Bonvoy Bevy Amex
You can also transfer your Bonvoy points to over 35 airline partners. However, unless you need to get good value in the redemption redemption balance, this rarely provides good value.
You can also consider this option if you want to access the airline’s frequent flyer point or miles that don’t work with any major U.S. credit card issuers, such as JAL Mileage Bank of Japan Airlines, you can also consider this option.

Bottom line
New Bevy Cardembers can earn positive values from first year welcome bonuses. However, given the income structure and the benefits of cardholder availability, it may be difficult to make sense to put this card in your wallet in the second year (and later). It is important to note that other Marriott cards offer similar allowances at lower annual fees.
