9 Best Wired Test Cooling Mattresses (2025)

Other cooling options
There are many mattresses and are relevant in the market, claiming to have cooling benefits. Here are some other options we tested and liked, but not as good as the above options.
The price of the Bedjet 3 is $387: Wired reviewer Christopher Null loves this climate control device very much because it allows him to sleep cooler without having to buy a brand new mattress. The device uses a large blower under the bed, blasting hot or cool air under the cover. If you like existing mattresses but will find yourself sleeping hot, that may just be the ticket.

Sealy Cocoon Chill Memory Foam Mattress, $699: Its surface is very cool due to its unique phase change material, which poses a miracle in drawing and storing the heat of the human body. This fully foam mattress is sturdy, making it suitable for those who sleep on the back and stomach. If you are a side sleeper and looking for more body profiles, I suggest you look elsewhere. If you are a stomach sleeper and are looking for a mattress that is also cooling, then this will solve the problem. My tests have little movement transfer, allowing my husband and I to get up at different times without disturbing each other. – Nicole Kinning
Zinus 12-inch Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress, $281: This dense behemoth consists of 12-inch layered foam sprinkled with a thin layer of green tea and purified charcoal foam to help the overall freshness of the mattress over time as activated charcoal particles block moisture and odor. The dense layered foam provides the cradle and conforming support to help with joints and spinal support, but for my smaller frame, this is too firm. Although made from memory foam, the bed stays cool and the infused material helps keep moisture hydrated and fresh.
Casper Snow Hybrid costs $2,495: When you come across a mattress named “Snow”, you naturally have high expectations for cooling effects, and this mattress does meet that expectation. Structurally speaking, the hybrid bed combines polyfoam, memory foam and bagged coils and provides targeted support on the hips, waist and lower back to relieve stress, making it ideal for back and stomach sleepers. I noticed it got a little wrong from the packaging and gave off a faint texture odor. After about two days, the mattress was ready, the smell disappeared, and it had fallen into the expected neat rectangular shape. – Nicole Kinning
Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid, priced at $1,999: Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid Sales for the company, which is exactly what you should expect. The mattress is made from patented Aircradle memory foam with concentrated cushioning in the center designed to support your lower back. Since I only have 5’2, the cushioning effect on the mid-back is not as expected. Despite its solidity, I didn’t find this mattress particularly outstanding, especially in the cooling characteristics. The cooling effect isn’t striking despite the combination of a three-phase Luxcole system and a memory storage foam injected by the cooling gel. – Nicole Kinning

Wayfair Sleep 12-inch Media Cooled Gel Memory Foam Mattress, $330: This bed has four layers of hypoallergenic gel memory foam, using cooling technology and breathable design to ensure your super cool sleep. This mid-size bed features two top layers of gel-infused gel memory and comfortable foam to help breathe and cool, while the material on the top is a breathable knitted cover that helps airflow circulate. This mattress is perfectly balanced with the soft cooling of memory foam, and the breathable knitted cover also helps with airflow. Most importantly, though, I always sleep calmly on the hit (pun) of this sleeper.
Wayfair 10.5-inch Plush Cooled Gel Mattress for $334: This cooling gel hybrid mattress includes five layers of various memory foam. The top of the memory foam pillow is designed to reduce pressure points and help reduce motion transfer, and has a breathable knitted cover to aid in the cooling effect. The mattress is compatible with an adjustable base and is subject to a 100-night trial and a 10-year warranty. Although it doesn’t cool down so much, some of the others on the list have obvious cooling effects, it’s a true plush mattress that uses cooling gel technology at an affordable price.
Wayfair Sleep 8-inch Medium Cooling Gel Memory Foam Prices $204: This super cheap medium cooling mattress has 8 inches of total memory foam – a top layer of cooling gel, charcoal and green tea-infused memory foam (to help freshness and odor absorption) and then a soft and comfortable foam on a durable high-density high-density foam base. The top layer has a breathable, woven jacquard design that helps keep the sleeper cool and reduces movement transfer. Ultra-cooling gel and a layer of memory foam infused with green tea helps to formulate cooling effects and prevents any odors. This super mattress is far better than expected, but there are better cooling options on our list.
Wayfair Sleep 14-inch Plush Cooled Gel Mixed Mattress for $410: This luxurious cooling gel mattress has a layer of gel memory foam on the top to relieve stress and help airflow, plus a seam Ethien knit cover that promotes continuous airflow around the mattress to keep the sleeper cool. The bed also has the classic pocket coil underneath for structure and support, with memory foam surrounding the coil (which also contributes to low motion transfer). The mattress is also compatible with an adjustable bed base with stable edge support, offers a 100-night trial and comes with a 10-year warranty. I love plush mattresses, but for those with larger bodies it may be too plush as the first super soft layer of memory foam is located on top of the coil system.
Wayfair Sleep 13.5-inch Medium Cooled Gel Memory Foam Mattress for $340: This 13.5-inch cooling gel memory foam mattress is listed as medium size, but I would definitely think it is super glitz. The top layer has 2-inch gel-infused memory foam and 4.5-inch comfort foam, and the bottom layer is 7-inch high-density base supporting foam. Like other cooling road mattresses, the top has a breathable jacquard pattern and is green tea to help you with freshness and cooling. The top layer of memory foam is designed to shape your body and help relieve pain and painful joints. This In-A-box bed also features low action transfer, 100 night trials and a limited 10-year warranty. If you are someone who wants a super brilliant bed that helps attract moisture, then I would recommend this behemoth.
What should you look for in a cooling mattress?
There are some things to consider when buying a cooling mattress:
- work: Choose mattress materials designed to promote airflow, which will help prevent heat buildup. Many mattresses are infused with gel or copper, which are designed to dissipate heat and keep cool. The hybrid mattress combines the best of both worlds by using a coil support system under foam, latex or Polyfoam Comfort Top. Hybrid mattresses tend to keep less heat than full foam mattresses because they have one or two springs to help dissipate heat.
- Cover fabric: Consider the mattress, which has a cover made of absorbent fabric and phase-change fibers to absorb sweat from the body. Breathable fabrics include bamboo, Tencel Lyocell and synthetic fabrics designed to help regulate body temperature. The perforated cooling cover further amplifies the airflow between your body and the fabric. We found that the tops on the seams helped, too, because they had ridges and valleys that allowed the air to escape.
- Air flow: With the proper airflow, you will generate overnight heat through the mattress for proper operation. Hybrid mattresses with a single coil help with this problem, but many mattresses sold by their cooling advantages have other tips.
- firm: While the debate on soft mattresses is a personal preference, your choice can play a crucial role in the way your body captures heat. Softer mattresses tend to wrap your body, which can cause an increase in retention as the body sinks to the surface. Instead, a stronger mattress provides better support and allows more air circulation around your body.
How to review a wired selection model?
We have tested over 100 beds in all guides such as the best organic mattress, the best back pain mattress and the best mattress you can buy online as well as personal reviews. We talk to each other and discuss the mattress brands of our average fans, and which ones are not us. We also outlined the reviews of our competitors and looked at what they were most excited about was where our opinions piled up. We paid for the bed we were trying, but we couldn’t get the sample. We are always willing to test branded mattresses, they approach us with their excited models, and we give honest opinions – we are not paid for glowing reviews of products we think are just middle.
We try to test a wide range of mattress types, firmness and brands to make sure we know what’s on the market, so we can best give you an honest, unbiased view of what kind of mattress you should invest your money into (and throughout your life).
How to deal with mattresses after testing?

How about wired test cooling mattresses?
The mattress is tested for at least one week, but in many cases it takes longer. I slept on most of these mattresses for half a month or more to really feel the product. I tested them at different times of the season and at different types of sheets and bedding. I sat on the edge to test edge support, jumped and performed some other Test the method of bounce and movement transfer of mattresses. Perhaps most important for this guide, I am my normal, permanent warmth (and sweat) self and measure more abstract things like my overall comfort at night, and how much I think the air flows through the mattress, or get stuck in the mattress.
