Apple may launch app in the spring with upgraded Siri

We already know that Apple plans to launch a major AI Siri upgrade next year, but it may be better than we thought.
Mark Gurman’s latest power on newsletters at Bloomberg contains interesting information about the intent of the app, an existing feature Gurman says, with the new, smarter Siri launching next spring, which will have a lot of upgrades. When this feature is real-time, users will be able to use their voice to Siri Complex, cross-app commands provided.
Examples include using your voice to ask Siri to edit and send specific photos to specific people, or log in to the app for free.

iPhone, Mac and iPad will get GPT-5 via Apple Intelligence. This is when it happens.
Of course, this is still being tested internally by Apple, and Gulman’s report says it’s still worried that it can use enough apps to be useful at release. Its accuracy will also be worthy of attention, just like any AI application. Apple first outlined a major upgrade for Siri (which lags behind other competitive voice assistants, such as Gemini), back to WWDC in 2024, but the delays have led to an upgrade that hasn’t yet appeared and may not be the time for the iPhone 17 to be launched in September.
Hopefully, this feature will eventually stop more headaches from Apple’s legal team.
