Every C-level candidate should ask questions during the interview

Here are some questions to ask when you have the opportunity to ask questions during an interview.
Work interviews for breakfast, lunch or dinner
A lot of the work I do is to guide them in new organizations and roles with very senior professionals. I’m no longer a recruiter; I’m a coach. As a result, I worked with people to help them with good interviews, good networking, good negotiations because it was one thing when it comes to recruiting. It’s another matter when it comes to “selling my service”.
I thought I would make a video covering some of the questions I encourage people to ask in the interview. These are really basic things, but this is the launching point of the conversation, where will it turn around in the end, saying, “So, do you have any questions about us?”
So the first one is really simple. I’m sure you’re already asking this question, including me.
“What does success usually look like, and how will you measure my success?”
Indeed, you want to understand that they will have your performance expectations within the first 30, 60 and 90 days. Six months. One year. How they will evaluate for you. How long will they evaluate you, criticize you, judge you, and what it takes to make your success. This is indeed the first question or question you want to cover.
Next is what is the expectation of the board? Do they have real concerns about this character based on previous circumstances, or do they need to address issues they think are particularly important to make sure you cover it?
This leads to something obvious. What are the expected challenges you will face? There are always many, but you want to be sure they have the greatest expectations. Surprises are rarely good, and are related to the concept of success, how they will measure you because how you deal with these challenges does reflect how the board will meet you when it sits down and talks with you again.
Finally, this is also the launching point of the conversation, where you will play your own role. Sometimes people are surprised when they enter the traction of a new organization. This is an interesting phenomenon. I don’t care if it’s the highest level of the organization or the couples are lowered, people expect a certain number of freer people, and then, voila, they find that they really don’t have that much freedom to make decisions or in buying or buying, hiring and hiring and hiring and hiring and hiring and hiring and hiring and hiring and hiring and hiring and hiring and hiring and hiring and hiring. You just want to know what kind of discretion you are going to take, because like I said, there are few surprises. Very few people have such a situation into where they find: “Oh, I can do more than I think!” Always very few.
So at least understand what kind of discretion you are going to step in. Again, this is not an exhaustive list. Here is the list of “Speed Points”. This is where you start the Q&A from behind.
Of course, you can also explore things like the success of your ex, or, if not, you can ask, “What alleviates or prompts the decision to create a character.” Which leads to the challenge and makes them expand the discussion more. This is because usually, creating a new location is a reaction to a problem that occurred previously.
