A few weeks ago, I wrote an article titled “The Box” about how each of us complies with the conditions. I talked about the conditions in the classroom:
“Stay still. Reflect on the facts. Get good results, otherwise. ”
“Otherwise, you won’t be in a good university.”
“Otherwise, you won’t do your job well.”
“otherwise……”
A few weeks ago, I found myself confined to another box. . . Not one of the school system, but I am familiar with it. . .
Although many of you consider me a head hunter because of my long-term career in executive search, I have spent a lot of nights in coaching training over the past 6 months and have been coaching people more successful in life and careers.
Additionally, I have been working on launching a new membership website for job seekers that requires me to learn new skills, hire people to do things for me, and stretch myself in ways that lead me to challenges.
After a quick start to new technology, I got to the point where I needed to hire people to edit many of the videos I’ve created over the past few years to make them more suitable for my subscribers.
I asked some friends to recommend it, but they are a lot more expensive. Soon, I discovered that people were willing to work for $2 an hour, but I couldn’t take action.
I always remember my mom’s voice: “They are going to cheat you.” and
Consciously, I know they might have cheated me out of $6 in total, but that’s enough to freeze me into place.
There is no logic to let me take action.
I wanted to move forward, but I was completely fixed by fear.
So, as it happens a lot, I started building some good excuses for release delays.
The most common thing is: “I need to do some marketing before I release it.”
Then came the Tuesday night class a few weeks ago.
Our courses are completed by phone and our students guide each other weekly as part of their training.
When my coach’s overnight starts, I sit on the couch in the office.
“Of all the moves you’re a little stuck or not getting the desired result, which one do you think is the most important to us right now?”
My heartbeats.
“Member website. I need to hire people, I need to learn how to enter content into the website. It’s a completely different way of doing things, with things I have to use on any other website I create. ”
“This is a great opportunity for us to use a technique called “replay moments.” It’s kind of like a live replay in motion. We will slow down our movement and see what is happening to you. ”
“Cool. ”
“It is important that you have to maintain a “judgmentless awareness.”” To translate it into non-coaching, “Don’t beat yourself up. Just be aware of what is happening to you. ”
“So, in the last week, can you think of a moment of the last week or two of the challenge? ”
I told her how I hired freelancers and couldn’t place an order. And, even if I place an order, I can’t figure out where the content is loaded on the new site so that it can be constructed and ordered correctly for members.
“Have you noticed any physical sensations? Which one is the most intense? ”
As the pressure increases, I feel my chest tighten.
“Now, all I want you to do is feel the pressure for 30 seconds. ”
It was in stage 30 that I remembered something.
I was 8 years old and beat the catcher in the minor league.
The winning runner is in third place. one. I talked to the pitcher nicknamed “bug”.
The plan is to tilt the batsman upwards.
The bug went into the punch, took a ball high and was in the middle of the plate. The batsman turned around.
When the ball rolled about two feet, I saw the runners coming from third base.
I stood there without moving.
Winning score points. game over.
I heard the manager shouting at me. I saw the disappointment and contempt on my teammates’ faces.
My box was built and now it works again.
Releasing memory is full of vitality.
Since then, I have placed an order for video editing and started loading podcasts and articles. Today, there are over 100 pieces of content on the site, and another 75 video editing has been ordered, and I believe I can launch it in early May 2016.
The coach can make a difference.
The bad coach is what my manager reminds me of how to do it. A good coach awakens memories.
