What do children think about AI?

If you try to get AI to do all the work, it is absolutely harmful because then you lose your skills in writing and reading. It can make students lazy. But that’s your loss if you use it to trick your work.

I feel that AI today is portrayed by a very bad eye, like taking everyone’s job and doing people’s job for them. But I don’t think people realize that AI is the way you train it. We are the ones who create technology, are we? As long as you use it for the right thing, we can solve AI problems in a number of ways. If you want to do well in this world, you should be able to use new technology in a great way to benefit everyone.

I live in Colorado and we have a lot of wildlife collisions. So, a few years ago, I decided to try to make a tool that would help solve the problem. I brought this idea to my computer science teacher and some other students, and eventually I made a device that detects deer and you can wear a car. In our case, AI is really useful because all we have to do is feed the data into this model: I ran hundreds of hot video frames through a computer vision model to identify deer and other large wildlife that trained our devices to perform real-time detection on the road without us manually analyzing the lens hours. That is the power of artificial intelligence. – Siddhi Singh, 17, a Colorado Highland Ranch

AI is not good for the environment and turns us into robots

I first heard about AI in AI when Snapchat added it to the chat messaging feature. At first, I thought Wow, it’s cool, this may make my life easier. I started using it for simple questions to help my homework.

Now, I don’t use it at all. It cannot be seen by teachers and students at my school. If you are caught using AI or Chatgpt, you will be kicked out of school.

I do feel that AI is penetrating everything. My sister uses Chatgpt but I hope she stops using it because it does a huge harm to the environment. My sister uses AI to reply to text messages. For the future look, it’s just a little glimpse, which is horrible because that’s not normal.

Social media has taken over people’s personality and AI has accelerated the process. If you ask how the AI responds to messages and it will give you an automatic response, that will affect how you think you should respond to people. Ultimately, when you use the robot’s advice, you become a robot. – Mahawa Kaba, 15, of the Bronx, New York

Kids will use AI, so teach them how

I went to a high school for AI-themed, where AI was incorporated into our courses, such as through data science and programming. In fact, the teacher teaches us how to use it first and then let us use it. The biggest thing is to ask yourself: Why am I using AI now? Am I using it to improve my work? Am I because I’m too lazy to do it?

Basically, you should use AI to reduce monotonous tasks you don’t need to do. From there, you bring back the innovation and originality of humanity.

My first real experience with AI was in my AP Human Geography class, when we were watching one of the snowstorms that took place in Atlanta in the 2000s. We are looking at data on how people can go home, so that’s a lot of big data, thousands and thousands of numbers. So we use an AI program to split and divide these numbers, and then we can use critical thinking to understand what the best resource is and how the government should react if something like this happens again.
