Books I’ve read recently – Fitnessista

Share a review of the books I have recently read, if it’s worth adding them to your collection.

Friends and friends! Are you OK? Hope you have had a great morning so far! We are doing our usual homeschool job here and I am looking forward to the F45 class this afternoon.

For today’s post, I want to talk about books and share some books I’ve read (and exited) recently. TBH, I haven’t spent much time reading lately. I’ve been working hard in the IHP Level 3 module – I’m trying to end up at an Equilife meeting in October – to be honest, scroll more at night. The days were so wild that I rolled up my weighted blanket and rolled, but the reality was that reading felt good and actually did positive things for my brain. I downloaded about five new books and hopefully one person is totally engaging me so I can go back to my nerdy way.

Currently, this is a review of the latest books! I would love to hear what you have added recently in your collection, but can’t let it go.

Books I’ve read recently

A golden summer – DNF

I have high hopes for this and I read the other books of this author and love them. They are usually fast, breeze, well written, and have a shocking storyline. This one is very flat. I’ve been reading, hoping it will get better and I’m just trying to do it. I finally called it 70% point exit. ah. I’m very annoyed by this, but the reality is that reading time is sacred and I don’t waste time reading books that I don’t like – there are so many good books out there. 4/10

From Amazon:

Good things happen on the lake. That’s what Alice’s grandmother said, and it’s the truth. Alice had only one summer in a cottage with Nan when she was seventeen – this was the one picture she took, one of three teenagers wearing yellow speedboats, a picture that changed her life.

Alice lives behind the camera now. As a photographer, she is most comfortable off-site and makes others shine. Recently, though, she’s been craving for more things, and when Nan falls and breaks her hips, Alice comes up with a plan for them: another summer at Barry’s Bay in that magical place. But once they settled, their peace was destroyed by the roar of a familiar yellow ship and the man who drove it.

Charlie Florek was nineteen when Alice took pictures from a distance. Now he’s all grown up – a shameless flirting who manages to make Nan laugh, and Alice Long is seventeen again, taking photos is just for fun when life is simpler. The sunny days and the warm nights spent on the lake with Charlie were Alice’s soul balm, but she began to worry about her heart as she looked up at him staring directly at her green gaze.

Because Alice sees people – that’s why she’s good at what she does, but she’s never seen someone who looks and sees her.

List: 7 Steps to Live the Best Life

I’ve always believed in performance ever since secret Hype day. I really believe it works and believe that if you feel the goal and the future before you achieve it, that will happen. (A million years ago, I worked at Lululemon and they had us do all day visualization exercises, 10 years since then. Almost everything I showed was real, including the two perfect girls we were at the time, who were just a wink in our eyes at the time.

An interesting question is the difference between performance and prayer if you can use them together, especially if you are religious. For me, I use them completely differently. I usually don’t pray for what I want to happen, but use it as a reflection and gratitude. I use performance to envision the future and the actions I need to take to achieve this.

The author breaks down performance techniques and strategies as well as short diary exercises. While a lot of them are comments to me, I like to remind you that this book is concise and clear. 9/10

I’ll have her

Apart from the Twilight series, Chelsea Handler brought me back to college after For For, and her first book made me laugh and cry. (All of this is inappropriate, probably not the PC I remember, so if you are an offensive person, I’ll stay away.) I downloaded it right away when I saw her have a new book, which didn’t disappoint me. I highly recommend the audio version so that you can hear the story in her voice. The book is surprisingly inspiring and heart-warming, except that it is totally fun. 8/10

From Amazon:

I want to be a woman, Chelsea Handler thought when he was a kid. She will be strong and confident. She will illuminate a room and shine light to make others feel better. She will keep herself alive. She will be a survivor.

Ten-year-old Chelsea opened a lemonade stand and realized that she would make more money if the drink was added. So she added vodka to her recipes and used her income to upgrade herself to a top-notch family vacation – raising parents and siblings in coaching. She moved to Los Angeles and was fired when she admitted she didn’t know how to re-phone. She played pickles on the court of the American Dynasty. She is the sixth-level governor. She shares psychedelic with strangers in Spain. When she accidentally had dinner with Woody Allen, she wouldn’t leave the table instead of asking him a very personal question. She went to the state television and talked about the trio. She has never been alone.

But this adventure and absurd life is just part of her story. Chelsea knows what is really coming for her family – can be human, biology and choice. She discovered how to spend time with herself, how to meditate, how to open up to love, and how to end her relationship with dignity. She is the sister of many women who rely on her.

Chelsea Handler is surprisingly fragile, always outrageous, capturing the wild, exciting and joyful life she has built – a life that makes the rest of us think that I have everything about her.

OK, friend: What’s the Kindle now? Have you swallowed any books recently and recommended them to everyone you know? Can I be on that list? Thank you

XO
