Citi Thanks for your reward: The best way to redeem and maximize your perspective
If you have Citi Thank You for your reward points or are considering whether to take advantage of your current Citi Thank You offer, you may be interested in the best way to redeem these views. While some redemption options cost only 0.8 cents per point, you can usually get at least twice that value when you redeem Citi Thankyou Rewards points with a hotel or airline partner.
In this guide, we will cover some of the best ways to redeem Citi Points and provide advice on avoiding redemption.
How to maximize Citi Thanks Rewards
You have a lot of options when it comes to redeeming Citi Thank you for your reward points. However, the value of Citi Points varies depending on how you cash out your rewards. To maximize Citi Thanks for Rewards points, you must choose the high value redemption option and avoid the low value option.
TPG’s August 2025 valuation will be valued at 1.9 cents based on the maximum points. To maximize Citi points, you usually need to avoid the following low value redemption options:
- Redeem gift cards: Usually 1 cent per point (up to 1.11 cent per point during sales)
- Book flights, hotels, car rentals or attractions through the Citi Travel Portal: 1 cent per point
- Check cash rewards by declaring credit, depositing directly or checking in mail: 1 cent per point
- Shopping with points: Usually 0.8 cents per point
Unless you close your account, you may also want to avoid sharing points with another Citi Thanks Member, or they are now redeeming and need more points to do this. Although there is no fee to share a thank you point with another member, the shared points expire after 90 days of receiving them. You can also donate perspectives, but doing so will not give you any tangible value (except knowing you donate).
As you can see, several redemption options will provide 1% value per point. However, if you want to maximize your reward points and significantly exceed 1% per point, you need to transfer the Citi points to your loyalty program. In the next section, we will discuss some of the best ways to redeem Citi Points with transfer partners.
The best way to redeem Citi Thanks Reward Points
The best way to redeem Citi Thank You Reward points is to have a high value redemption with one of a Citi Thank You partner.
Citi has 15 airline partners, 5 hotel partners and one retail partner, and you can transfer points. If you have Citigroup Elite Card (See rates and fees), Citi Layer Premier® Card (See rates and fees) or Citi prestige® card. Note: Citi Points can be transferred to partners in increments of 1,000.

American Airlines AADVANTAGH
In July, Citi thanks for the rewards received from transfer partner American Airlines Aadvantage. You can transfer Citi points to American Airlines AAdvantage at a 1:1 ratio, but only if you have a Citi Layer Elite Card, a Citi Layer Prime Card or a Citi Decency Card. You cannot transfer Citi Thank You Rewards Points from any other card to American Airlines Aadvantage.
American Airlines miles are extremely valuable because they let you book premium cabin reward tickets operated by most partner airlines, which are based on public reward charts. But even if you are primarily interested in flying flights operating within the Americas, you may still find attractive awards. In particular, when you are flexible in terms of travel dates and routes, dynamic reward prices for Americans themselves can offer extremely high value (especially if you are willing to fly economy).

France-klm flying blue
In January, Flying Blue added some of the cost of transatlantic redemption, but one of the most attractive uses of the France-KLM Flying Blue program remains the promotional rewards. With the blue promotional rewards for flying, you can usually discount one-way economic flights between US airports and various European airports at a rate of 20,000 miles per person.
If you have a Citi Grade Elite Card, Citi Grade Prime Card, Citi Grade Prestige Card or AT&T access more cards, you can transfer the Citi Thankyou Rewards point to Air France-klm Flying Blue at a 1:1 ratio. Other Citi Thank You Card Members can transfer points to blue at a 10:7 ratio.

Avianca Lifemiles
Even after the recent depreciation, Avianca Lifemiles is still loved for pricing its Star League Awards. You can save travel within the United States and Canada with LifeMiles, and you can also find some compelling prices for flights in Central and South America.
LifeMiles is one of the best ways to book Lufthansa first class and you will find multiple desserts for Lifemiles flying in Long Haul Business Class. However, some travelers avoid Avianca Lifemiles due to their information technology and customer service issues.
If you have a Citi Grade Elite Card, Citi Grade Prime Card, Citi Grade Prestige Card or AT&T access more cards, you can transfer the Citi Thankyou Rewards point to Avianca Lifemiles at a 1:1 ratio. Other Citi Thank You Card Members can transfer points to the Life Meter at a 10:7 ratio.
Türkiye Myers and Smiling
Türkiye’s Miles & Smiles implemented a higher rewards table in February 2024, but the program still offers some attractive reward rates. In particular, 65,000 miles of one-way business-class flights between various U.S. cities and Istanbul are still a good deal. Flying 10,000 miles in one-way between the United States and Hawaii (if you can find the reward) is also striking. It’s just that you could have won these awards with Turkish Airlines, less.
If you have a Citi Grade Elite Card, Citi Grade Prime Card, Citi Grade Prestige Card or AT&T access more cards, you can transfer the Citi Thankyou Rewards points to Türkiye Miles & Smiles at a 1:1 ratio. Other Citi Thank You Card Members can transfer points to Türkiye Miles and Smile at a ratio of 1,000:700.
Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
Virgin Atlantic has devalued its reward tables several times, and reward tickets usually have high taxes and fees. Even so, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club is a popular program that rewards travelers.
You can redeem Virgin Atlantic’s more than 20 partner airlines, including Tsun Airlines. Not to mention, sometimes you will find that the reward rate for transatlantic Virgin flights is low, which makes it worth paying taxes and fees.
If you have Citi Tier Elite Card, Citi Tier Prime Card, Citi Tier Prestige Card or AT&T access more cards, you can transfer the Citi Thankyou Rewards point to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club at a 1:1 ratio. Other Citi Thank You Card Members can transfer points to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club at a ratio of 1,000:700.

Select Privileges
Choosing a privileged reward night usually costs 8,000 to 35,000 points, but you can get great value if you stay on expensive dates or expensive destinations. I have gained tremendous value when redeeming select points in Japan, Europe and expensive US destinations (such as ski resorts in winter and big cities with high demand dates).
If you have a Citi Grade Elite Card, Citi Grade Prime Card, Citi Grade Prestige Card or AT&T access more cards, you can transfer the Citi Thankyou Rewards point to the Select Privileges at a 1:2 ratio. Other Citi Thank You Card Members can transfer points to the Select Privileges in a 5:7 ratio.

Wyndham Rewards
Wyndham Rewards offers a three-tier award list, with the prize night selling for 7,500, 15,000 or 30,000 points. So, good value is usually found in some properties, with a price of 7,500 or 15,000 points per night, especially if you are traveling on high demand dates, the payment is high. If you have a Wyndham Rewards Credit Card, you will get a 10% discount when redeeming points on a free night.
If you have a Citi Grade Elite Card, Citi Grade Prime Card, Citi Grade Prestige Card or AT&T access more cards, you can transfer the Citi Thankyou Rewards point to Wyndham Rewards at a 1:1 ratio. Other Citi Thank You Card Members can transfer points to Wyndham Rewards at a 10:7 ratio.

Citi Card, earn reward points thank you
Various Citi cards earn thank you bonus points, but only four cards earn comprehensive thank you points that you can transfer to all the partners discussed above at the best ratio. Here are the four cards currently welcome to offer:
- Citigroup Elite Card: Spend $4,000 in the first three months of opening an account and earn 80,000 bonus points.
- Citi strata Prime Minister’s Card: Spend $4,000 in the first three months of opening an account and earn 60,000 bonus points.
- Citi reputation card: This card is not open to new applicants.
- AT&T Access More Cards: This card is not open to new applicants.
You can transfer any rewards earned by thanking your reward card to an account that earns a full thank you point and redeem them as if you had earned them through that account. So if you have a Citi class Prime Card and Citi tier ℠ card (See Rates and Fees) You can transfer the rewards of Citi Tiered Card Awards to the Citi Class’s total account before redemption.

Bottom line
The best way to redeem Citi Thanks Reward Points is to use a high-value transfer partner to redemption, giving you at least 1.9 cents per point.
However, if you have Citi Thank You Points and don’t want to use a transfer partner, the best way to get good value from your point of view is to redeemed it for gift cards that are used at a rate of more than 1 cent per point during the sale. Otherwise, consider redeeming a direct deposit or checking at 1 cent per point.
