Hello! I’m Jeff Altman, a big game hunter, and I have another interesting interview question designed to get you excited. I need to read it because I don’t want to miss any key points. Ready? One box contains two quarters.
One is a double-headed coin and the other is a regular coin. The head is on one side and the other is the tail. You draw a coin from the box and look at one of the sides.
Assuming it is the head, the other side also shows the possibility of the head? Now, when I first thought of the answer, my instinct was to say there was a 50% chance, but I paused and I focused more on the issue and realized that it was impossible. This is why. When drawing coins, there are four possibilities.

There is a head and a head. That’s a coin. Head and head. . . Because this is the other side of that double-sided coin, right? Therefore, the head and head appear twice.
There is a head and a tail, then a tail and a head. Now, the trick is they tell you right away that you are seeing the head so that the fourth option doesn’t exist, right? Therefore, there are three possible alternatives. They both involve double heads.
One is the head and tail. So the correct answer is that the other side will also be two-thirds of the chance that it will be a head, as the fourth one is eliminated. Very clever little problem.
