Singapore Krisflyer increases reward rate and increases dynamic pricing

Krisflyer, Singapore, is the latest airline loyalty program. Starting November 1, the program will soon increase the reward rates for its own flights, partner flights and cabin upgrades.

The airline also announced that it will launch a new type of reward ticket called “Access” on this date. Access Awards will allow members to book seats on any Singapore Airlines flight, and they will be priced dynamically even if there is no savings or room for advantage.

Here are these Krisflyer changes you need to know.

Singapore Clifford depreciates

Unfortunately, this depreciation affects almost every route you can book with Krisflyer. If you are booking a flight on Singapore Airlines’ own plane, you will find that the number of points you need to book is as high as 20%. The worst change is Krisflyer’s Advantage Awards, which cost more than Saver, but with greater flexibility.

This is the malfunction of Singapore Airlines flight depreciation:

  • Savers’ redemption (Asia and Southwest Pacific Regions 1 to 9): Economy has decreased by 5%, business and first class has increased by 5%
  • Savings Redemption (Areas 11-13, Europe and us): 5% increase in all classes
  • Savers’ redemption (Region 10, Africa, Middle East and Türkiye): 10% to 20% increase in all classes
  • Advantage Redemption (all areas): District 10 economy grew 5%, District 10 Business Class grew 18%, District 10 top-notch growth 15%; all classes in all other areas grew 10% to 15%

Meanwhile, flights from Star Alliance partners are becoming increasingly expensive, and prices are rising by about 10%. We won’t be changing every change in this article, but some of the most famous travelers include:

  • Flights within North America: Increased from 14,000 miles to 15,000 miles; increased from 26,000 miles to 29,000 miles in business class
  • North America to Hawaii and Central America: Increased from 19,500 miles of economy to 20,500 miles; increased from 39,000 miles to 43,000 miles one way
  • North America to Europe: Increased from 30,500 miles to 32,500 miles; increased from 81,000 miles to 89,500 miles in business class

Finally, in most cases, the mileage you need to upgrade to your Singapore Airlines ticket also increases by 5% to 10%. The number of increases will vary depending on the area you travel from.

This isn’t the worst depreciation we’ve seen in the Point and Mileage worlds, but these changes still make using Krisflyer even more expensive. If you get Krisflyer reward tickets in the market, book now before the price rises in November this year.

Singapore Airlines will add visit awards

Krisflyer will launch the visit award on November 1. These awards allow Krisflyer members to book any available seats on Singapore Airlines flights. Unlike Saver and Advantage Awards, they will be priced dynamically based on demand.

The airline has not announced pricing details yet, so we have to wait until November. But if the role of Access Awards, such as comparable awards from Delta Skymiles and United Mileageplus, hopefully popular routes become very expensive during holidays and other peak travel times. Thankfully, this is just an extra option, and Krisflyer’s savings and advantage rewards chart will stay here.

Bottom line

It is always unfortunate to see the depreciation of the loyalty program, but we thank Singapore Airlines for bringing us a lot of advance notices. With that in mind, if you’ve been waiting to book a Krisflyer reward ticket, lock in the pre-evaluation redemption rate by November 1.
