New JFK New Terminal Gets 2 more amazing lounges

New York’s John Kennedy International Airport (JFK) is undergoing a major transformation that is expected to significantly improve the passenger experience, especially in airport lounges.

Kennedy’s existing Terminal 1 will be replaced by a brand new terminal that will be opened next year. While the terminal itself looks like it will be a massive upgrade to the existing facility (at least based on renderings), the most exciting part is that once the first phase of construction is open, senior passengers will have six new lounges to enjoy.

Two of these lounges will be common – i.e., especially without regard to any airline – the details of these outposts have just been announced.

Plaza Premium Group will be the operator of two spaces: one will be located on Airside (the security of the past) and the other (before security) – the rareness of US airports.

The Airside Lounge, known as Plaza Premium First Lounge, will span 9,300 square feet and will be open 24/7. The space will offer a locally inspired special menu, a bar area and so-called unlimited rooms for La à la carte dining, which is the lounge at Plaza Premium – an outdoor concept that debuts in Hong Kong.

It is speculated that top-notch flyers on a particular airline will be available to use this exclusive space, but the lounge access policy is still finalized.

The lounge will also recognize those procurement day passes (at undetermined interest rates) and even those with priority, especially since other Plaza Plaza Premium Lounges are members of Priority Pass

Meanwhile, the arrival area lounge of Plaza Premium, known as the Plaza Premium Lounge, will measure 4,200 square feet and provide a place for arrivals to relax. Most importantly, this lounge will come with a shower, perfect for travelers who want freshness after a long flight and before heading to the city.

Plaza Premium mentioned that travelers arriving before check-in may be interested in hanging out in this lounge. As mentioned earlier, the access details are still finalized, but it’s nice to see Arlines working with Plaza Premium to, after landing, work with Plaza Premium to access the space for their Biz Flyers.

In fact, this will be the only arrival lounge for Kennedy, if not the only one, in the US arrival lounges are popular in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, especially among business travelers who want fresh before heading to the board.

So some travelers landing at other Kennedy International Airport terminals may even want to jump to the new terminal robot just to shower on arrival.

Finally, in addition to two new lounges, Plaza Premium Group will also offer gatherings for those seeking a concierge-style airport experience. Expect this experience to be splurged, but at least it should provide a very comfortable way to navigate the airport.

In addition to Plaza Premium Lounges, the new terminal will also have A:

There is also an airline lounge that has not been announced yet. Sadly, when the terminal is open, there will be no credit card brand lounges in the terminal.
