Thirteen years ago, Coursera began with a simple and revolutionary idea: The transformational education should be available on a large scale. Today, as we mark our 13th year, the idea has evolved into a global reality – learning changes industries, reshapes careers, and has a measurable impact on the scale we once imagined.

This number tells an amazing story: 183 million learners worldwide, governments reshape national education strategies, companies that drive millions of dollars in business value, and universities redefine what it means to prepare students for tomorrow’s economy. Behind these statistics is how the world approaches a fundamental shift in learning, skills and human potential.

At the 13th Annual Coursera Conference in Las Vegas on September 9, 2025, we celebrated the evolution of the movement. Our Outstanding Achievement Awards recognize organizations and leaders who go beyond experimentation to achieve change impacts, demonstrating that digital learning is successful in every department.

Among hundreds of nominations around the world, our internal committees evaluate entries based on the dimensions of impact, innovation, participation, values, and community contribution. Selected winners demonstrate learning how to drive national competitiveness, corporate transformation and personal empowerment.

Now let’s meet the winners and finalists of our 2025 Global Awards.
