IHG issues food and beer rewards in various currencies based on your country of residence. For example, U.S. residents received $20 and Canadian residents received $2.5 billion. If your country does not use one of the IHG’s currency rewards, IHG issues your food and beer rewards in US dollars.
TPG’s September 2025 valuation sets the value of the IHG point at 0.5 cents. If you agree to this valuation, you should get more value from the food and beer rewards than the reward points for each milestone. However, if you think these can provide more value, you may need to choose a confirmable kit upgrade or annual lounge membership in some milestones.

How to use food and beer rewards
Now that you know how to earn food and beer rewards, let’s review how to use them. When you sign in to most IHG brands, you can redeem food and beer rewards. The main exclusivity is the IHG Army Hotel, which selects six sensory locations, iBerostar Beachfront Resort and InterContinental Macau Resort.

If you redeem food and beer rewards in properties that use different from your rewards, IHG converts your reward amount into the hotel’s local currency. And if you redeem food and beer rewards for less than their denomination (for example, when you only have $15 in eligible food and beverage charges on your room bill, you will lose your residual value.
To redeem food and beer rewards during your stay, open an IHG rewards app or log in to your account on the IHG website. If you visit IHG’s website to redeem, click the “Rewards” section of the “Enjoy Your Rewards” section under the “Stay Rewards and Upgrades” tile.

You will see food and beer rewards under the Rewards to Enhance Your Accommodation section. Click “Redemption” on one of the food and beer rewards to start the redemption process.

In this case, select your qualified accommodation – the Villa 77 of the Six Sensory Laamu – and click “Continue to redemption”.

On the next page, you will see your food and beer reward credit, applicable fees, and the remaining fees after the credit.

After reviewing the fees before and after the credit, scroll down, read the reminder, and click “Yes, apply this credit to my bill” to continue.

Next, you’ll see a page that reminds you that you can only use every food and beer reward. Click Yes, redeem this reward to use your food and brew prizes.

On the next page, you will see confirmation that IHG applies your food and burning rewards to your bill.

Very easy. However, remember that if you want to stay with any food and beer rewards, you must redeem them before checking out. Even if you have multiple to apply to your bill, you need to do it one by one.

Bottom line
If you charge for food and combustion chambers when you stay at least a few IHGs a year, it usually makes sense to choose food and beer rewards in certain layers.
I thank IHG for the speed of the redemption process for food and beer rewards. So far, when my husband redeems 14 food and beer rewards in six senses earlier this month, we only spent about 20 seconds on the rewards.
