Photographer Marco Marinucci’s “Whenever I Go Back”

Continuous meditation at home, belonging to London photographer Marco Marinucci. Marinucci’s work originally came from Pescara, Italy, explores the themes of identity, migration and family roots. His photos reflect a profound connection to the landscape and tradition that shaped his life. Since immigrating to London, Marco has been living in the complexity of his life between the two worlds, capturing the quiet rhythm of his hometown while considering the issue of ongoing belonging. In “Whenever I Go Back”, Marinucci records San Giovanni Teatino and its surroundings, a small town nestled between the Adriatic Sea and the Apennines:

“I felt an overwhelming urge, mentally and physically, through my photography, to capture and carry a desire to be spiritually and physically. But, I tried to keep fragments of my identity. But these images are not just these images, not just these images; they are a kind of love, values, values and traditions that are trying to carry, like mine, and have lived through my generation, like mine, and relying on my life.
