Amex Platinum Overhaul: Why These New Benefits Make Me Apply

I was surprised that I did it here.

As a generally budget-oriented traveler, my credit card charges a lower annual fee. Add to American Express® Gold Card With its $325 annual fee (see Fees and Fees) is the first step, but I want to win the bonus for groceries. Now, this is one of my favorite cards.

About a year later, I decided to open my first premium travel card. Capital One Venture X Rewards credit card is the best choice because it charges $395 annual fees compared to its competitors’ higher annual fees.

I’m very excited about the new benefits added considering the annual expenses American Express Platinum Card® I will apply for it.

The Amex Platinum now costs $895 per year (see rates and fees), which is $500 more than the annual fee for my most expensive card.

Once I run the card membership, I won’t care about the annual fee. Amex Platinum functional credits will be practically used and benefited, thereby enhancing my travel experience.

These are my favorite new Amex Platinum Perks and the ongoing benefits that made me decide to apply.

Enhanced digital entertainment credit

this Amex PlatinumFor me, enhanced digital entertainment credit will be the easiest to use.

First, the credit line is increased from $250 to $300 per calendar year. This will be the highest monthly 25 monthly statement credit (registration required) when you purchase a qualified purchase at Amex Platinum of a Qualified Partner:

YouTube TV added to this list is a game changer. YouTube TV has been my staple food ever since I cut the cables in 2022. Its basic plan is the $82.99 fee that I simply couldn’t avoid, and a $25 statement credit would save me money on streaming.

Statement credit should apply to your regular expenses and you shouldn’t just spend outside of regular mode, but just for credit card math work. The $300 I earned from this credit will be truly seamless.

New reward credit

The new United States is credited to Amex Platinum I know another benefit I’ll use.

That’s because I’m a big fan Amex GoldThe U.S. annual credit limit of up to $100 per calendar year is two statements up to $50 respectively.

With Amex Platinum, I will earn another higher stock credit: up to $400 per year per year, respectively, for $100 statement credits per quarter.

This credit is so simple. All you have to do is dine at a participating American slum restaurant and pay with a qualified card. You don’t have to book to get credit.

I have multiple instances and when I didn’t even know I was having a meal with a Resy Restaurant, the credit was posted. I also intend to use the Resy platform to make reservations to find new restaurants and get some money back.

The fact that knows how much I love my reputation for my Amex Gold has allowed me to get more of the Amex Platinum to win over my abilities.

Uber one credit

I’ve been riding on Uber rides so I find it easy to use the Uber cash I’ve received Amex Gold. So the new latest $120 Uber one credit Amex Platinum Attract me to the premium card.

Also, with Amex Platinum, I will get up to $200 in Uber cash per calendar year, valid on Uber Rides and Uber Eats orders in the U.S., depositing $15 into my Uber account, and in December *I will get an additional $20 bonus*. Registration is required.

*Uber cash is deposited into only one Uber account when you redeem Amex Platinum as a payment method and redeem it with any Amex card.

One of my favorite Uber privileges includes a $0 delivery fee for qualified food and grocery delivery, returning 6% of rides in the form of Uber One Ardit, and there is no cancellation of rides.

Also, I already like the Doordash Dashpass membership I received Chase Sapphire Priority® Card (See rates and fees).

Adding the free Uber One is just the top of my food delivery needs.

Continuous Benefits I Will Use

and Amex PlatinumRefresh is the ultimate driving force for converting me, and until now, I’ve been watching some of the ongoing benefits of the card.

Lounge entry

Currently, the Venture X is the only card I can use the lounge. This is great, but there are a lot more Amex Centurion lounges than Capital One lounges. As a primary cardholder, owning platinum also means access to the wider range of US Express Global Lounge.

This is especially important to me, as I live in the southeastern United States and often fly out of Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) or Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), two airports without Capital, but with a Cecital One lounge but with a centurion’s lounge.

Also, when I was traveling on the same day on Delta Airlines flight, I was so happy to visit my first Delta Sky Club. Amex Platinum cardmembers visit Delta Club 10 times a year or grab and grab on the same day flights traveling in the Delta. Registration is required.

Airline fees credit

The AMEX Platinum’s annual calendar year of up to $200 in airline fees (required for admission) is a long-term benefit for Afar.

It’s effortless for luggage charges and seating options on selected airlines, especially if you don’t have an identity or a credit card with their common brand (because I don’t).

I might use this credit with Delta Airlines. When I most often traveled with American Airlines, my partner and I traveled together, who owns the Aadvantage® RedWorld Elite Mastercard®, which gave us a decent stipend when we rode Americans (including free check bags).

Walmart+

I’m a loyal Walmart+ member for over a year, thanks to my findings of 50% of the deals via AMEX offers Amex Gold and Hilton Honors American ExpressSupasspass® Card.

and Amex PlatinumI will receive a monthly statement credit of Walmart+ membership up to $12.95 (with automatic renewal and UP not included, a membership is required and registration is required).

Walmart+ gives me free Paramount+ or Peacock (requires separate enrollment), select gas stations across the country are up to 10 cents per gallon, free shipping from the store, free shipping, no order required.

All the benefits I’ve loved will now be free.

Profitable welcome offer

Apart from everything I’ve already mentioned, Amex Platinum offers reliable welcome offers for the new Cardembers.

The new Amex Platinum cardmembers can find out their offer to see if they qualify for up to 175,000 bonus points after spending $8,000 in eligible purchases in the first six months of card membership. Welcome offers vary and you may not be eligible for an offer.

AMEX Membership Rewards Points are one of the most valuable currencies available today. Based on our September 2025 valuation, TPG is estimated at 2 cents. TPG’s valuation will value this offer up to $3,500.

Bottom line

My colleagues always find their solid value Amex Platinum Card, but I was skeptical until a new change was announced.

Despite the annual fee of $895 for the card, I was able to plot exactly how I planned to get value from it.

It’s hard to believe that I was once a fan of cash returns and committed to keeping my annual salary low. Now that I see the hype, I’m eager to learn more about how Amex Platinum adapts to my travel habits and lifestyle.
