Spirit Airlines offers 2 free check bags for cardholders

Low-cost airline Spirit Airlines will offer cardholders of its brand Mastercard to make credit cards more attractive.
Spirit confirmed to TPG that it will provide cheering to the main good guys of FreeSpirit® Travel More World Elite Mastercard®, a stock issued by Bank of America. Travelers will now have the most free check bags on flights booked directly on Spirit’s website or in Spirit apps with qualifying cards.
Spirit said each bag weighs up to 50 pounds and can include special items like golf clubs or snowboards.
“Our most loyal guests know that when they choose the spirit, they get the most value, and now free spirit travels more Mastercards make flying with us more meaningful,” Rana Ghosh, senior vice president and chief commercial officer at Spirit Airlines, said in a statement with TPG. “With two free check bags, the main cardholder can enjoy more of what they like, including excellent value, excellent allowances and a noble travel experience.”
In addition to check bags, cardholders can also access priority check-in and priority boarding, free upgrades, and a 25% rebate for on-board food and beverage purchases. New cardholders who sign for a free spirit travel spend at least $1,000 in purchases within the first 90 days of opening an account, and can also receive 50,000 bonus points and $100 flight vouchers.
The cheering in the new checkout bag came after Spirit’s second bankruptcy filing in less than a year and was due to the difficult problems the airline faced with its future. The airline said it will now undergo a “full” restructuring and vowed to continue flying during this period, but was still forced to cut its November schedule.

Months after Southwest Airlines ended its long-standing “free bags” policy, the revitalization is also offering two free check bags to each passenger. Now, Southwest charges most passengers $35 for the first checked bag, and the second checked bag costs $45.
There are three fare options available on Spirit, which have different privileges: Spirit First, Advanced Economy and Value. Value is the lowest priced ticket, both seating options and luggage, and additional fees. The premium economy comes with a free carry-on bag, while Spirit first includes a free check bag.
