Hawaiian Mis Transition to Atmos Rewards: Your FAQ

In August, Alaska Airlines’ mileage plan officially transitioned to a new joint venture program with Atmos Rewards. Now, Hawaiianmiles of Hawaiian Airlines will be converted to Atmos Rewards on October 1.

Currently, Hawaiians have implemented login freezes from September 26 to 30 in preparation for the transition. Account access and most loyalty functions will be restored on October 1st with Atmos Rewards.

Here are the answers to the most important questions about what will happen to your Hawaiian mileage, new elite status, if you carry (or plan to apply) Hawaiian Airlines co-branded cards, and what to expect.

What happens to my Hawaii River account and mileage balance on October 1?

You don’t need to panic. Your mileage and account will move, but there are some logistics to know:

  • Automatic 1:1 transfer: Your full Hawaiian mileage balance will automatically convert to Atmos reward points at a rate of 1:1 on October 1. You don’t need to take any action. TPG’s median valuation reward atmos in September 2025 is 1.5 cents.
  • Your account change: Your Hawaii Loyalty Program Number will no longer be valid. Your new loyalty program number will be your Atmos reward number. (Note that if you have an Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan account, that number will become your Atmos reward number.) If you never have an Alaska or Atmos number (or there is no link until September 26), Atmos will create it for you on October 1, when you receive instructions on how to access your Attos account.
  • Login and function October 1st: During the power outage from September 26 to 30, you will be unable to log in, redeem miles, purchase, share or transfer miles, or adjust profile details in your Hawaii Mill account. Normal access will be returned on October 1st in the Atmos Rewards Program. You can do things that stop during a power outage, such as requiring retroactive mileage, re-depositing Hawaiian mileage (now known as Atmos Rewards points) to donate to charities and redeeming certificates during the reward flight cancelled on September 26.
  • Saved payment method will not be extended: You need to re-enter the memory card in the new Atmos Reward Program profile; however, the traveler rescued in your Hawaiian Program profile should be successfully carried and reappeared.
  • Points will not expire: After planning to migrate from Hawaii Mills to Atmos Rewards, you will have Atmos Rewards points without expiration.

I flew (or earned mileage) between September 26 and September 30. When will these mileage and status updates be released?

Accruals from September 26 to 30 will not be displayed in your Hawaiian Mills account and your status will not be updated during this period.

The event is calculated on October 1st and your update balance, status tier and any qualified upgrade certificates will be displayed in the Atmos Rewards program.

Can I still have an elite status?

Yes, your Hawaiian Pualani identity moves with you, mapped to the new Atmos rewards layer on October 1, as follows:

  • Pualani Gold becomes Atmos Silver
  • Pualani Platinum (less than 75,000 elite qualifying) becomes Atmos Gold
  • Pualani Platinum (75,000 to 99,999 Elite Criecing Miles) becomes Atmos Platinum
  • Pualani Platinum (100,000+ equations) becomes Atmos Titanium

After the transition, when you add the Atmos number to your booking, you will enjoy the benefits of Atmos reward elite status (and the corresponding OneWorld Alliance Perks); some upgrades and benefits rules are different from Hawaiian Mizu.

Can I still use a Hawaiian Airlines credit or debit card?

Yes. If you carry a card shared by Hawaiian Airlines – Hawaiian Airlines World Elite Mastercard®, Hawaiian Airlines World Elite Business MasterCard® or Bankoh Hawaiian Airlines Visa® Debit Card – you can continue to use it as usual.

Starting October 1, all the rewards you earn from these cards will be posted to your Atmos Rewards account, not your Hawaiian Mills account. Existing benefits remain the same, including free check bags on Hawaii operating flights when purchased with a qualifying card.

Information on Hawaiian Airlines World Elite Mastercard®, Hawaiian Airlines World Elite Business Mastercard® and Bankoh Hawaiian Airlines Visa® debit cards has been independently collected by Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

Can I still apply for a Hawaiian Airlines credit or debit card?

Yes. After the loyalty migration, consumer, commercial and debit versions of Hawaiian same-card cards are still available for new applicants. However, new card members will receive Atmos bonus points instead of Hawaii Miles. The application process, issuer and core card benefits remain the same, but Atmos will be a program related to your income.

Don’t forget to consider the exciting new premium atmospheric rewards credit card recently launched.

Bottom line

On October 1st, your Hawaiian Restaurant Account will become an Atmos Reward. Miles Move 1:1, your Pualani state is converted to the same Atmos tier, and you will use this joint enterprise enterprise plan account to manage redemptions and benefits.

If you carry a Hawaiian Airlines credit or debit card, you can continue to use it because starting in October, the reward will be attributed to the Atmos reward.

After switching, you will need to re-enter the saved payment details, but otherwise, the move is designed to be as automatic and painless as possible.
