If Rome’s travel plans for summer 2026 are coming soon, stop what you are doing and make reservations at Thompson Rome. According to the hotel’s website, the property is located near Veneza Square and the Pantheon, and the property is now available for reservations starting May 31, 2026.
You may remember TPG adding Thompson Rome to our list of “The Most Exciting Hotel Openings of 2025”. Just like many new hotel projects, opening dates have dropped, but Hyatt said guests will now be welcomed to the 69-room Class 8 property by the end of May.
Thompson is one of my favorite Hyatt brands, especially Thompson Madrid and Thompson Hotel. Its hotel is located in beautiful buildings, all-round, but then comes with every modern style you have for luxury brands. The sensitivity of the design is often male, with warm earth tones and comfortable club furniture.
The Thompson Hotel covers a small footprint (including 19 properties at Thompson Rome and Thompson Shanghai Expo, which is also about to open), but it is worth your appreciation for your radar.
Thompson Rome itself has a long history as it was once the state headquarters of the Italian Communist Party. Today, its outstanding features are about to become its glorious rooftop bar, where guests will find 360 degrees of timeless city views.
Thompson Rome also has a signature restaurant and bar and a fitness area.

You can book a standard room with a king or queen size bed. Junior suites with and without a terrace are available. There is also a fun twin suite which is a great thing for friends traveling together.
Finally, the location on Via Delle Botteghe Oscure is great, especially for first-time Roman visitors. In less than a mile, you can walk to Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Piazza di Spagna and Castel Sant’angelo, and St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City are just 1.28 miles away.
