LACMA 2025 gala raises $6.5 million

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) celebrated its 14th annual Art + Film event on November 1, attracting nearly 600 of the biggest names in art, film, fashion and entertainment. This year’s carnival honors artist Mary Corse and filmmaker Ryan Coogler, the sinner. After a brief delay by the Dodgers and a gripping World Series finale, the fundraiser resumed with some rousing speeches and a captivating performance by Doja Cat.
“We are art, film, creativity, all tightly intertwined,” Michael Govan, CEO of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, told the star-studded audience. “I always say this is the most creative place on earth, and you are here, all of you.”
Co-hosted by LACMA Trustees Eva Chow and Leonardo DiCaprio, the gala set a new fundraising record, raising nearly $6.5 million to support LACMA’s mission: to integrate film more deeply into its curatorial programming and advance the museum’s broader artistic vision.
The 2025 Art + Film Festival is sponsored by Gucci, which has been a sponsor of LACMA since the event’s inception in 2011.

Guests included fashion superstar Cindy Crawford and her daughter Kaia Gerber. Gerber chose a bold lipstick-red design with sequins (reminiscent of the sizzling Versace dress her mom wore to the 1991 Oscars with Richard Gere). Crawford opted for a gold, off-the-shoulder style.
Gerber clearly thinks her mom is cool. Crawford once said Fashion: “We went to an event recently and Kaia spotted an old Alaïa dress that I had been wearing. Nothing would make me happier. If she wanted to wear something I wore 30 years ago, what greater compliment could there be?”

British actress and singer Cynthia Erivo wore a striking Schiaparelli gown embellished with… eyes. Designed by Daniel Roseberry and taken from the couture brand’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection, the pearl-embellished 3D eyes captivate onlookers from every angle. The optical illusion (textbook Schiaparelli) was made even more dramatic by the hanging wing decoration on the bodice.

American model and influencer Alex Consani chose a see-through Gucci dress, which is probably not surprising since she was sitting next to the fashion house’s creative director Demna Gvasalia, who incidentally also wore Gucci. Actress Demi Moore and her daughter Tallulah Willis were also among them.
