Get Apple TV+ and Apple Music with Sapphire Reserve

One of the most hidden expenses today is streaming subscriptions. If you’re like me, you’ll find a reason to need almost every one of them – and it’s really important.
One of my favorite credit card perks is streaming subscription points. Currently, my Disney+ bundle consists mostly of my American Express Blue Cash Preferred® CardUp to $120 per year (up to $10 per month) bill credit (US sites only; registration required; auto-renewable). My US Bank Altitude® Go Visa Signature® Card also offers another streaming credit I can use.
Bank of America Altitude Go information is collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
When I see Apple TV+ and Apple Music are Chase Sapphire Reserve®After the (see Rates and Fees) refresh, I’m excited to cut two more subscriptions from my monthly budget.
Here’s what you need to know.

Once you’ve connected your subscription, you’re all set. The process for activating an Apple TV+ subscription is the same.

If you have a valid subscription to any service, the free service will automatically suspend your paid service. If you cancel your free subscription, your paid subscription will be reinstated.
Additionally, if you’re feeling generous, you can gift this subscription to a friend or family member. However, to use an alternate Apple ID other than yours, you must activate your subscription through the desktop.

Is the Sapphire Reserve Apple TV+ and Apple Music deal worth it?
Currently, an Apple TV+ subscription costs $12.99 per month and an Apple Music subscription costs $10.99 per month. The annual value of both memberships is $287.76, plus taxes and fees (if applicable).
If you’re already paying for both memberships (or are willing to cut other subscription fees for them), the annual savings alone are enough to justify the card’s increased annual fee ($795, up from $550).
Still, credit card offers only save you money if it’s something you’re going to buy anyway. If you don’t currently subscribe to any memberships, this is a nice perk, but it won’t necessarily save you money. However, this benefit is a great way to try out these services and see if you like and get value from them.
Additionally, this free subscription is only available with individual Apple Music plans. If you want a family subscription, you have to pay the full family price, not just the difference on the individual plan.
