American Psycho by artist Jordan Sullivan

Artist Jordan Sullivan creates a series of paintings that reflect the ailments of American culture. Sullivan lives in Queens, New York, and his work focuses on the risqué aspects of contemporary life. For Sullivan, these random and extreme images signal how far things have come, and the ways in which the incomprehensible has become normalized:
“If insanity is the collapse of meaning, then what my paintings prove is that deviance, addiction, fantasy and dreams of destruction are symptoms of living in a country beyond comprehension. Any pursuit of truth is betrayed by the vulgarity of life under capital. So what are we left with? If anything, my paintings are bewildered and disturbed by the strange beauty of the absurdity, isolation, addiction and horror that plagues this country.”
