5 signs you should quit your leadership role
No one has a lot of time to listen to or read a lot of crap to get you an informational interview on LinkedIn. You can do this in two sentences. Really, two sentences are enough.
I’m Jeff Altman, big game hunter. People hire me worldwide to provide job search guidance and career advice without a bachelor’s degree because I make the process of finding and succeeding in a job easier. here we go. Ready? Two sentences: “I’m exploring a career in such-and-such an organization or in such-and-such a field, and I admire the work you’ve done on fill-in-the-blank names for companies. Can you take 10 to 15 minutes to talk to me about what you’re seeing in the industry?” It’s that simple.
When you actually talk to someone, at the 15-minute mark, you say to them, “I’ve used up the 15 minutes I asked for. Thank you.” Often they will invite you to take more time, or they will appreciate that you limited your time to 10 to 15 minutes, and they will be willing to have more conversations with you.
