One of the best Black Friday deals is when you spend $150 at Saks Fifth Avenue, you can get a $75 promotional gift card in exchange for your well-timed purchase (or even more, depending on how much you spend).
All you have to do is shop using the promo code: “BFRIGCSF”. The deal is great on its own, but it can be even better if you want to get creative.
The offer is available online until Saturday 29th November and in store until Sunday 30th November. Promotional gift cards are valid from December 14th to December 24th.
Here’s what you need to know about Saks’ Black Friday deals and how to stack deals and discounts to make them even better.
Saks bonus gift card with Black Friday orders
If you spend $150, you’ll get a $75 promotional gift card – but if you spend more, you can get even more. Here’s how it breaks down:
- Receive a $75 promotional gift card with a purchase of $150 or more
- Receive a $125 promotional gift card when you spend $500 or more
- Receive a $250 promotional gift card when you spend $1,000 or more
- Receive a $750 promotional gift card when you spend $3,000 or more
Promotional terms are as follows:
- Online shoppers should use code “BFRIGCSF” at checkout.
- The offer is available to customers who shop online at Saks through Saturday and in-store through Sunday.
- Certain brands and items are not included in the promotion.
- Promotional gift cards are valid Dec. 14-24 and can be redeemed in Saks Fifth Avenue stores and online.
- Offer limited to one gift card per household.
In previous years, promotional gift cards were emailed to me within approximately 36 hours; the subject line read “Your Saks Fifth Avenue Gift Card.” Interestingly, it looks just like a regular gift card from last year, rather than a promotional card, and can be used immediately. Of course, that probably won’t happen this year, so don’t count on that part.

Earn an extra 2% cash back
You can start shopping Saks Fifth Avenue now at Rakuten and earn 2% cash back (or 2 American Express Membership Rewards points or Bilt Rewards points per $1 spent) on eligible Saks purchases.
This amount can vary during the Black Friday shopping frenzy, so you should compare cash back rates via Cash Back Monitor to get the best deal.
If you’re a new Rakuten customer, you can stack a $50 cash back bonus on purchases of $50 or more when you join through a referral link.
Use your $50 Amex Platinum bill credit
if you have American Express Platinum Card®you can earn up to $50 in statement credit at Saks Fifth Avenue every six months (up to $100 per year). Your second point for the year expires on December 31 whether you use it or not, so this is an opportunity to rack up those savings.
Essentially, you activate the offer in your American Express account and then pay for your order using your Platinum card. If you still have a $50 statement credit available, it should be automatically posted to your Amex account. Registration required. What to buy at Saks
Yes, Saks has $5,000 dresses and other items at humorous prices. However, there are other items that are nice but not outrageous. If you’re wondering what to buy, here are some of the items and brands I’ve liked at Saks over the years:
Some other more affordable brands from Saks that we like are Skims, Ray-Ban, and Adidas. Of course, if you’re really not sure what to buy, searching the sales section and sorting from cheapest to most expensive is another effective strategy.

Let’s say you have a Dagne Dover backpack. The price is now $150.50 — almost a perfect price for a gift card deal.
Add a promotional code to receive a $75 Saks promotional gift card, and if the code was applied correctly you should see it in your cart. Get 2% cash back when you start buying Saks at Rakuten. You’ll pay Saks $150.50, plus tax and shipping, and get about $3 cash back in your Rakuten account.
If you pay with an Amex Platinum credit card with $50 in Saks points, your effective price will drop $50, all the way down to $97.50 after Rakuten offers $3 cash back (before tax and shipping). Factoring in the $75 promotional coupon you’ll receive, you’ve essentially spent $97.50 in cash on over $225 in merchandise from Saks.
Hopefully, your purchase is already on sale, making the overall deal even better. Please note that some promotional items may not be eligible for gift cards. It should appear in your checkout screen.
