According to TPG’s December 2025 valuation, Chase points are worth 2.05 cents each, while United miles are worth 1.3 cents each. So, in theory, when you transfer Chase points, you lose value because transferable points are inherently more valuable. However, as we’ll discuss later in this guide, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t transfer Chase points to United, especially if you consider doing some redemptions where you might get more than 2.05 cents in value per United mile.

When should you transfer Chase points to United MileagePlus?

As you read this guide, you may be wondering if it’s best to transfer Chase points to United. The issue is complex, so it’s important to consider your specific circumstances.

Based on our assessment, United MileagePlus is not the most valuable Chase transfer partner. You may want to hold on to your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to transfer to these higher-value partners, especially if you haven’t accumulated a large number of Chase points. Still, it’s possible to get more value from United miles during certain redemptions, such as during United award sales or some long-haul business class awards.
