Chase Sapphire Reserve Card Editorial Source: What to Know

if you are a Chase Sapphire Reserve® (see rates and charges) or Chase Sapphire Business Reserve℠ (See Rates & Fees) Cardholders, you may be familiar with The Edit, Chase’s collection of more than 1,000 great properties available for booking through Chase Travel℠.
If you haven’t explored what you can book through The Edit, take a look. Some properties are expensive — For example, the Chilean desert oasis Tierra Atacama costs more than $2,860 per night. Other hotels are more affordable, such as the Kimpton Epic Hotel in Miami, which starts at about $279 per night.
Your Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Business Reserve include benefits that offer real value and are easy to use. Cardholders receive $500 in The Edit points and, through 2026, a $250 statement credit on select hotels booked through Chase Travel.
Here’s what you need to know to maximize the value of The Edit points on both cards.
Edit points for Sapphire Reserve card details
Currently, editorial credit Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Commercial Reserve (Available for a minimum two-night prepaid stay) Cannot be used all at once.
Cardholders automatically receive up to $250 in statement points on eligible purchases between January 1 and June 30 of each year, and an additional $250 in points between July 1 and December 31. According to Chase, whenever you book a hotel in Chase’s curated The Edit portfolio, you’ll see a credit post within six to eight weeks (although several TPG employees have reported seeing similar credit posts much earlier).
This will change from January 1, 2026, when points will no longer be allocated on a semi-annual basis. Instead, cardholders can receive up to $500 in statement points to use, up to a maximum of $250 per transaction.
This means you must book two consecutive prepaid stays of two or more nights to receive the $500 in The Edit points in one go.

If you don’t need to use this credit all at once, you’ll end up with two separate $250 statement credits that you can use at your leisure.

Also starting January 1, 2026, Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve for Business cardholders will receive up to $250 in statement credits when booking prepaid Chase Travel hotels from the following brands. (Minimum two-night stay required; must book by December 31, 2026 to earn points.)

Benefits for booking your stay at The Edit include:
- $100 property credit
- Daily breakfast for two persons
- Early check-in and late check-out (if available)
- Room upgrade (if available)
Earn 8 points per $1 spent on all travel booked through Chase Travel, including The Edit bookings.
But similar to the popular $300 travel credit (which doesn’t have to be used within Chase Travel), $500 in The Edit points does not earn Ultimate Rewards points. Once you use up your The Edit points, you can start earning points on Chase Travel purchases.

How to Maximize The Edit Points on your Sapphire Reserve Card
Annual fee is $795 Sapphire Reserve or Sapphire Commercial Reserveit is important to maximize their welfare. You want to make sure the value you get from an expensive card is worth it.
Fortunately, there are ways to maximize this credit. For one, you can use your Sapphire Reserve card to pay for hotels within The Edit, get a $250 bill credit, and use your Ultimate Rewards points (worth more if the stay qualifies for points multipliers) to pay for the rest of your stay.

TPG contributing editor Matt Moffitt used his $250 points to stay at the Urso Hotel and Spa in Madrid, Spain, reducing the price of $847.31 for two nights to $597.31. From there, he can use 29,850 Chase points to pay for the remainder of his stay, since the property is eligible for points appreciation, worth 2 cents per point.
You can also maximize the value of The Edit points by booking travel together, whether it’s a flight and car rental, a few nights in a hotel or a fun activity on your next trip.
