Bilt adds Spirit Airlines’ Free Spirit as transfer partner

Bilt Rewards has just added another transfer partner to its roster. That’s right, Bildt just added Spirit Airlines’ Free Spirit as a 1:1 transfer partner.

Bilt is now the only transferable currency that can be transferred to the Free Spirit loyalty program. However, the addition is also timely as the airline was given a $100 million lifeline two days ago to stay afloat during bankruptcy proceedings. The airline has also signed new contracts with pilots and cabin crew, which it says will support its long-term recovery.

Bilt Rewards noted in an email to publishers, including TPG, “that the low-cost airline became the fourth-most booked airline for Bilt members on the Bilt travel portal, demonstrating a strong desire among the member base to travel across the country (and North America) as efficiently as possible. Bilt is the first transferable currency to be transferred to a low-cost airline, giving Bilt members more flexibility to redeem points and travel any way they want.”

You can get a Spirit Airlines flight for a relatively small amount of Bitcoin points. After all, Free Spirit redemptions start at just 2,500 points.

However, since Spirit is in bankruptcy, I strongly recommend that you only transfer your Bilt points to Spirit if you have immediate plans to book a travel award in the next few weeks. That’s because the airline’s route network and flight schedule may change during the bankruptcy process.

If you want to transfer Bilt points to Spirit, it’s now easy to do so. Simply open the Bilt app or website, navigate to the Rewards section, and click on the Transfer tab. Select Free Spirit, link your Free Spirit account, and select the number of points you want to transfer (you must transfer at least 1,000 points). It’s that simple.

If you just need a few more points to redeem, it might make sense to transfer your Bilt points to Free Spirit. However, keep in mind that there are often more valuable ways to redeem Bilt points. After all, TPG’s December 2025 valuation puts the value of Bilt Rewards points at 2.2 cents each and Free Spirit points at 1.1 cents each. Before making the transfer, consider whether transferring Bilt points to Free Spirit will provide the best value.
