How do I transfer Chase points to JetBlue?

One of the great things about transferable points is that you can redeem them for award flights on airlines you’ve never flown before, or you can accumulate points or miles. If this is the case, you’ll need to set up a JetBlue TrueBlue account before you can transfer your Chase points to JetBlue.

Go to the JetBlue website to create an account for free. Then, visit your Chase portal and enter your Ultimate Rewards account. Click “Travel” on the top toolbar and select “Transfer Points to Partner.”

On the next screen you’ll see a list of Chase’s travel partners, with any available transfer bonuses noted at the top. Scroll down and click on the JetBlue option.

This will take you to a page with some rules about transferring points to JetBlue; for example, points transferred through the Chase portal are not eligible for JetBlue Mosaic status.

After reviewing the fine print, click the blue “Transfer Points” button in the lower right corner.

On the next page, you’ll need to enter your JetBlue TrueBlue number if you haven’t logged in before, or just confirm it if you’ve already logged in. Chase also allows you to transfer points to an authorized user on your Chase account so you can enter their TrueBlue number. After completing this step, click Next.

Then, enter the number of points you want to transfer. The value must be a multiple of 1,000, so you may need to transfer more points than needed to redeem.

The next page will give you an opportunity to review your information before the transfer is processed. Remember, transfers are irreversible, so make sure you enter the correct number of points to transfer before clicking “Submit.” An inadvertent spelling mistake could result in you transferring 100,000 hard-earned points when you only wanted to transfer 10,000. It’s also a good idea to double-check the spelling of your name and TrueBlue number.

When you’re ready to complete your transfer, click “Submit” and wait for your points to be deposited into your JetBlue account.

According to the Chase website, “Most points transfers are completed the next business day, but may take up to seven business days.” However, TPG’s testing shows that most transfers to JetBlue occur instantly. This means you can book award flights within minutes of transferring Chase points.

When should you transfer Chase points to JetBlue?

JetBlue dynamically prices cash and award rates, so the more dollars a flight costs, the more points cost. Therefore, you can generally expect to earn TPG’s December 2025 valuation of 1.45 cents per point on JetBlue award flights.

Before you decide to book an award flight, search for the same flight on the Chase Travel℠ portal. You may be able to get a better value depending on which credit card you have and whether the flight qualifies for the Chase points bonus.

For example, I could book this nonstop JetBlue flight from New York to London using 48,800 TrueBlue points for Economy (Blue) or 505,200 TrueBlue points for Business (Mint), plus $5.60 in taxes and fees.

If I booked through Chase Travel, the same Blue fare would have cost me 51,440 Chase points, so I could save a few thousand points by transferring my points to JetBlue.

However, the Mint fare cost 319,428 Chase points on Chase Travel—hundreds of thousands of points cheaper than if I’d booked through JetBlue, though it’s still not a deal I’d be willing to accept.
