New Biltka transition timetable: What you need to know

We are about to make the current decision time Birt MasterCard® cardholder.

Later this week, Bilt Rewards will officially launch information about the loyalty program’s three new credit cards, called Bilt Card 2.0, published by Cardless. Current cardholders will have a little more than two weeks to evaluate their 2.0 options and make a choice before the Wells Fargo-backed Bilt Mastercard is retired in February.

As this transition proceeds, there are a few key dates to remember. Soon, you’ll have the opportunity to switch to one of these new cards, or you’ll see your current Bilt Mastercard replaced by a no-annual-fee card Wells Fargo Autograph® Card (See Rates and Fees).

Note that current Bilt cardholders do not have to accept immediate action. Instead, your window to make a choice opens soon — this Wednesday, to be exact — and you have until January 30 to make your decision.

Here are the details of the key dates and what you can expect in the coming weeks.

January 14: Bilt Card 2.0 launches, decision window opens

On Wednesday, Bildt will officially announce the full details of its new card suite. While rumors have been swirling about the details of the card, we know for sure that there will be three versions with different annual fee thresholds:

According to rumors, the new card will earn Bilt points on rent and mortgage payments and Bilt cash on everyday expenses. The annual fee card has more bonus categories and some Bilt Travel points. The higher the annual fee, the more benefits you can receive.

Beginning January 14, Bilt cardholders can choose at bilt.com/card or through the Bilt app.

You don’t have to make a decision on the first day the details are available, as you have until January 30 to choose a new Bilt card.

January 30: Last day to choose a new Bilt card

January 30 is the last day that current cardholders can choose to seamlessly transition from their old card to the new one.

If you don’t make a selection by this date, your Wells Fargo-Powered Bilt Mastercard will automatically convert to Wells Fargo Autograph Card. The Signature Card has no annual fee but does not include a welcome bonus for switching cardholders.

You may also choose to close your Bilt/Wells Fargo account and choose not to transition to the new Bilt Card 2.0, which will completely terminate your Bilt Card membership. However, even if you don’t have a Bilt card, you can still take advantage of the Bilt rewards ecosystem.

Even after the selection deadline, you won’t be able to use the new Bilt Card 2.0 right away.

Key considerations

Bilt has released some important details to help existing cardholders make their choice:

  • You can choose to automatically transfer your balance from your old Bilt Mastercard to the new Bilt Card 2.0. If you don’t have the option to automatically transfer your balance to Bilt Card 2.0, you can view your statement and pay with your balance by visiting Wellsfargo.com or calling 833-404-2272.
  • If you choose to open a new Bilt Card 2.0, you have the option to close your old Wells Fargo account.
  • If you choose to open a new Bilt Card 2.0, you will keep the same card number.
  • After the upgrade, Apple Pay and Google Pay will automatically refresh with the new Bilt Card 2.0 details.
  • You’ll be able to choose a new card without a hard inquiry showing up on your credit report.

February 6: Last day to use old Bilt Mastercard

February 6th is the last day you can use your old Bilt MasterCard.

Current cardholders will soon be able to use the new Bilt Card 2.0 or converted cards Wells Fargo Autograph Card instead.

February 6th is also the date that cardholders can receive their new Bilt Card 2.0 or Autograph cards so they can use them the next day (activation day).

February 7: Your new Bilt Card 2.0 or converted Signature Card is activated, your old Bilt Mastercard is deactivated

A new era of Bilt Card membership begins on February 7th. Your new Bilt card 2.0 or Wells Fargo Autograph Card It will be put into use on February 7th.

This is also the day when digital wallets will be updated with new card details.

On February 7, the old Bilt MasterCard issued by Wells Fargo will no longer be valid.

bottom line

Current Bilt Mastercard holders will have a little more than two weeks to decide whether to choose to add one of three new Bilt cards issued by Cardless, or see their old Bilt Mastercard converted to Wells Fargo Autograph Card.

You don’t have to make your choice as soon as the January 14th window opens, but you do need to remember that January 30th is the last day you can make a decision and have Bilt transition your card details seamlessly.

You will be able to use Bilt Card 2.0 or converted Autograph cards until February 7th.
