What is one thing you would change about our company?

This is a classic question often asked by job seekers, usually at director level and above, but especially in C-level executives, it can be asked to lower-level employees.
I just received an offer for a better job
Jeff Altman, “Big Game Hunter.” I coach people. I try to help people be more effective in their job search, recruitment, management and leadership, you know, things related to the workplace.
This is a question for managers and above. If you are an employee, you may be asked this question, but the chances are slim. The question is, if you could, what is one thing you would change about our company? Now, the reason for asking this question is, number one, to test whether you’ve done any homework on this company and what challenges they face.
Second, see if you can think independently. So, the idea is not rude. You can’t simply say, you know, you all screwed up, whatever it was.
But instead, you have to precede it with a nice settings line. The purpose of this is to say, hey, look, everything I know about your company comes from the media. It’s not that the media is wrong.
I don’t have to go beyond this texture. I’ve done some shopping. I talked to some friends who had opinions.
At the same time, there is nothing better than being inside an organization and gaining a deep understanding of it. Isn’t this a great setup? It will cushion the punch you are about to give to their mouth. The idea behind the answer is, remember, leaders have to make decisions.
Once you start thinking about the answers, you won’t necessarily become gentle. But they will want to know how you think, how you analyze, how you criticize, how you propose solutions. As far as solutions go, the same setup is required.
Because, hey, listen, I don’t know the capabilities of the team I’m inheriting. So execution and delivery may again be an issue. But assuming I have a good team, I think that’s what we’re doing. . . Then you start discussing the details.
Again, you have to make the introduction well, be ready to transition to the solution being proposed, and do it in a respectful way, but at the same time, let everyone know that you are a no-nonsense person.
