1.23 Friday Favorite – Fitness Guru

Hi friends! Happy Friday! Are you OK? What are you going to do this weekend? I hope all my friends out there staying safe and comfortable during the winter storm. This weekend we are hosting an NCL event, date night(!) and barre class at the food bank. I also had some quarrels with these little guys in between working on some IHP modules.

Last week I had an amazing trip to San Diego for our planner. We hold several events each year and I always look forward to the opportunity to brainstorm, share ideas, and learn from Jill. I was especially excited about this because it was an excuse to see my best friend Betsy and catch up with her.

My flight purposely left early on Wednesday so I could have some time to relax before the event. Little Lola is such a mess here – she’s adorable, but man, raising a puppy is definitely a lot of work, haha - so I went straight to Betsy’s house. I met her before she left for work and I was able to use her house as a hub before we checked into the hotel.

I had a cup of coffee at Better Buzz, then took it to the Mission and had a nice hour-long walk on the beach. Lunch was takeout from Tender Greens, which I took to Betsy’s to enjoy before my one-on-one client visit.

When Betsy got home we took a ragrie class (the best!!):

(This vest comes in at least 6 colors. Comfortable, long, non-rising, built-in bra)

Then go to Ponyboy for dinner. It elevates the cozy fun of the 50’s with the opportunity to add caviar to many of their products. πŸ˜‰ We will definitely be back! The drinks and food were great, food + cocktails with Betsy was everything I needed.

I met up with my good business friend Giselle at the hotel and the rest of the weekend was filled with meetings, brainstorming,

Delicious meals, hikes, more lagree (the first time I’ve gone three days in a row. My legs and core are dead too), and a full night’s sleep. Bless it.

Great to meet Tina! We keep in touch via text messages, but I haven’t seen her in years.

It was just a little pick-me-up I needed and it’s always a treat to return to one of my favorite places.

(I wear these jeans all the time <- on sale now)

Now, it’s time for our weekly favorite Friday party. Here I’m sharing some of my favorite finds from the week and around the web. I always love hearing about your favorites too, so shout out your favorites in the comments section below.

1.23 Friday Favorites

Fashionable, beautiful and casual:

Hiking in Sabino Canyon with the family. The river was gurgling and the weather was very nice.

We can always count on P’s snacks:

(The kids are obsessed with candy canes and I got the last box from the “Last Chance!” section at Whole Foods. Goodbye candy canes for another year.)

We also tried Chilln; a new ice cream shop in Tucson. You choose your base, mix, and toppings, and they instantly freeze it with nitrogen so the texture is super smooth.

This is almond milk ice cream with olive oil and sea salt. I wanted to try something and this did not disappoint. We went maybe twice in two days πŸ˜‰

Read, watch, listen:

Have you watched the latest season? Is Emily in Paris? I’ve only watched a few episodes, and while I think it moves slower than previous seasons, it’s perfect escapist fluff.

The latest Substack is about how I turned a small blog into a business.

Fitness, Health and Food:

Local Friends: Penelope’s Pizza is Gluten Free! You just have to call and order 24 hours in advance because everything is homemade and the bread takes a long time to rise. This will definitely become the norm here:

To be honest, I’m not very good at making healthy lunches for myself. There are a lot of phone calls these days, so I just grab something quick in the afternoon, like granola, meat sticks, or chips. I usually make a ton of soup and feel exhausted.

My friend Gisele recommended Thistle and it’s great. The meals are free of added gluten (some contain oats, so pay attention to the ingredients if you’re sensitive), and there are plant-based and meat-based options. I ordered four lunches and two snacks and they were all fresh and delicious. You can give it a try and save 60% in the first week through my referral link!

This Thai red curry with minced chicken is delicious, packed with veggies and 29 grams of protein.

Thank you so much for visiting the blog today! Have a great weekend and see you soon!

XOXO
