Easy healthy habits that really make a difference

Sharing some of my favorite low-effort healthy habits that actually make a difference because not everything has to be expensive or complicated. 😉
Hi friends! Are you OK? I hope you had a great weekend! Our jobs are busy, but also great. We managed to have our first date night in a long time (the best!!) and had so much fun with the kids and puppy. This week I’ve been fielding client calls, business coaching calls, and working on my IHP Centurion module.
In today’s post, I want to share some of my favorite effort-saving healthy habits. Honestly, I love all the gadgets and fun everyday activities, but the reality is, a lot of them aren’t practical for busy lives or tight budgets. Life’s best health tips are literally freeso I’m going to share some fun *extra* stuff at the end of this post today.

(Please remember, this is not medical advice)
Easy healthy habits that really make a difference
morning light.
Morning light has a huge impact on energy and circadian rhythms. It tells your body, “Hey, it’s morning!” so that it can continue producing melatonin at the right time. Good light in the morning = better sleep quality at night
walk.
Walking is one of three things you can do for your health. I love to go for a walk at least once a day, whether it’s a walk with Maisey (I can’t wait to walk with Lola soon), a stroll on the walking mat, or a walk at Target or the mall with the staff. It’s great for overall movement and function, sleep, blood sugar control, core stability, and more.
Simple addition.
You don’t have to take a ton of supplements to get amazing results. The best supplements are the ones recommended specifically for you after functional testing, but here are the baselines I like: Daily Nutritional Support, Omega-3s, Vitamin D, and Magnesium. That’s it. (EquiLife now has these cool starter stacks!)

Sleeping habits.
Sleep is free, if you can get it, take it! Making sleep a priority can be difficult, especially if you’re a parent and nighttime is your only quiet time. I try to remind myself that the doomscroll is stealing my sleep, so I turn it off, read a book, and read as much as I can. My sleep secrets are all in this article!
Nervous system reset.
It’s easy to underestimate the impact nervous system support can have on overall health. You can’t heal in flight or fight, so if you’re an anxious and stressed person (like me, haha), here are some things that can help you: meditation, box breathing, journaling, time with friends, eating out, time doing nothing (I tell a lot of clients to watch their favorite mindless TV shows), time outside, hiking, yoga/stretching, etc.

If you’re looking for *extras*, here are a few that I think are really worth it:
magnesium. Many people are deficient in magnesium, especially because we deplete magnesium when we are stressed. This is my favorite one.
red light. This one is a bit pricey, but you can use FITNESSISTA at a huge discount and it’s like the Swiss Army Knife of health devices.
Electrolytes. These are inexpensive and can help replenish the spark plugs of our cells. I recently switched to Thrive Market’s Micro Electrolytes and love the taste and ingredients.
Blue light blockers. These are my top picks.
EquiLife Detox. I do this four times a year and always feel great afterwards. If you would like to join our community detox, get your kit here and send me an email (gina@fitnessista.com Topic Detox). We have a round starting on February 2nd.
If you’re looking for more information, my top biohacking products are in this post.
You don’t have to go crazy with gadgets and supplements to maintain a balanced daily life. The best strategy is the one that fits your budget and your life. This is the foundation upon which I build each client before adding anything more advanced.
So, friends, tell me: what are some of your favorite effort-saving health habits?
Share your good stuff in the comment area below!
