Emirates and Marriott International to open first Ritz-Carlton hotel

Marriott International has partnered with Emirates to open its first Ritz-Carlton hotel in Australia’s scenic Blue Mountains later this year, marking a milestone for the luxury hotel brand and offering a new way to use Marriott Bonvoy points.

The 40-room Emirates Ritz-Carlton, Wolgan Valley is expected to open in partnership with flydubai in mid-2026, according to Emirates. Set on a 7,000-acre nature preserve, the all-inclusive resort features spacious guest rooms with private pools and custom amenities, including a dedicated naturist center “designed to create an immersive, conservation-led experience,” according to a press release.

Guests also have access to the resort’s outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, stables, fitness center and spa, as well as the opportunity to spot wildlife such as kangaroos, naked-nosed wombats and brush-tailed rock wallabies.

Those who want to immerse themselves even more in nature can book the signature “Sleep In” experience, during which the resort takes them on a guided tour that includes an al fresco dinner and the opportunity to relax around a campfire.

“We are honored to partner with Emirates on this landmark development, where the world’s largest hotelier and the world’s largest international airline are joining forces to revitalize luxury travel in New South Wales,” Marriott’s president for Asia Pacific (excluding China) Rajeev Menon said in a statement. Emirates previously operated a hotel in the area called Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley. However, the hotel closed in 2023 “in response to [the] The luxury hotel group said “resorts continue to face challenges with road access.” Guests will now be able to access the new Ritz-Carlton property by four-wheel-drive vehicle or helicopter.

Emirates president Tim Clark said the new hotel “will not only be an exceptional holiday destination for discerning travelers seeking to be close to nature, but will also be a powerful engine of local economic growth, helping to revitalize the Wolgan Valley region.”

The new hotel will join two other Ritz-Carlton properties in Australia: The Ritz-Carlton, Perth and The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne.
