How to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt hotels

You have several options for redeeming Chase Ultimate Rewards points. But typically, you can get the most value by transferring it to one of the program’s 10 airline or 3 hotel loyalty program partners.

World of Hyatt is one of the best Chase transfer partners to get the most value for your points. Here’s what you need to know when transferring Chase points to Hyatt hotels.

Can you transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt hotels?

You can transfer points from your Ultimate Rewards account to select airline and hotel loyalty programs, including World of Hyatt, if you have one of the following cards:

Additionally, if you have other Ultimate Rewards cards that earn cash back rewards, such as Chasing Freedom® (see rates and charges) or Chase Freedom Flex® (See Rates and Fees), you can transfer rewards from these cards to your Ultimate Rewards point-earning card account. You can then transfer all of your rewards, including those originally earned with the Cash Back Ultimate Rewards Card, to a transfer partner like World of Hyatt.

Chase vs. Hyatt transfer ratios

Like all Ultimate Rewards transfer partners, Chase’s transfer ratio to Hyatt is 1:1, and you must transfer points in 1,000-point increments. This means that if you transfer 10,000 Ultimate Rewards points to a Hyatt hotel, you will end up with 10,000 Hyatt points.

In theory, transfer bonuses could increase transfer rates; however, we have yet to see bonuses transferred from Chase Ultimate Rewards to World of Hyatt and are unlikely to see one due to the high value of Hyatt points.

World of Hyatt is one of, if not the most valuable Chase transfer partner. According to TPG’s January 2026 valuation, Chase Ultimate Rewards points are worth 2.05 cents each, while Hyatt points are worth 1.7 cents each.

How long does it take to transfer Chase points to Hyatt hotels?

Chase notes that Hyatt points should appear in your account by the next business day, but this can take up to 7 business days. In fact, the points I transfer from Chase to Hyatt usually show up in my Hyatt account almost immediately.

You will receive an email from Chase when you submit your request to transfer Chase points to Hyatt, and you will receive an email from Chase once the transfer is complete. So even if your transfer takes a little longer than usual, please note that you’ll receive an email once it’s complete.

When should you transfer Chase points to World of Hyatt?

I transfer Chase points to Hyatt points when I don’t have enough Hyatt points in my account to book a specific award stay and don’t want to purchase Hyatt points. I always compare paid rates to award rates and redeem Hyatt points when each point is worth at least 2 cents instead of booking a paid stay.

There are two other things to keep in mind before transferring Chase points to a Hyatt hotel.

Should you redeem points for accommodation with Chase Travel?

You can transfer Chase points to Hyatt hotels and then book award nights through World of Hyatt.

However, another way to redeem your Ultimate Rewards points for a Hyatt stay is to book your stay through the Chase Travel℠ portal and redeem your Ultimate Rewards points at checkout.

I generally avoid booking Hyatt stays through the Chase Travel portal because these bookings typically do not earn me World of Hyatt elite points and benefits (hotel points and elite benefits are only earned for bookings made through The Edit by Chase Travel). However, some travelers may want to compare the cost of points when booking directly with Hyatt versus booking through the Chase Travel portal.

Are there other ways you can earn Hyatt points?

Transferring Chase points to Hyatt isn’t the only way to earn Hyatt points. You can also purchase Hyatt points if you need to quickly increase your Hyatt account balance.

If you have more time to earn Hyatt points, you can add to your account balance by staying or spending with your World of Hyatt card. Here are the welcome offers for two such cards:

  • World of Hyatt Credit Card (See Rates & Fees): Earn up to five free nights: Three free nights when you spend $5,000 in the first three months from account opening, and an additional two free nights when you spend $15,000 in the first six months. Free nights can be redeemed at any Category 1-4 Hyatt hotel.
  • World of Hyatt Business Credit Card (See Rates & Fees): Earn 60,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 in purchases within the first three months of account opening.

So while transferring Chase points to Hyatt hotels is a great way to accumulate Hyatt points, it’s not the only way.

bottom line

Transferring Chase points to Hyatt is often a great way to get great value from Ultimate Rewards points. But remember, every Chase point you transfer to Hyatt is a Chase point you can’t transfer to another Ultimate Rewards transfer partner.

I recommend holding on to your Ultimate Rewards points until you’re ready to book an award flight or stay. Then, once you find an available reward and determine that the redemption rate is high enough to justify using your Ultimate Rewards points, transfer your rewards.

If you need more Chase points, consider taking advantage of one of the following welcome offers with the Ultimate Rewards Card:
