This isn’t the best bonus we’ve seen in the card’s history, but it’s slightly higher than its typical offers. Now might be a good time to apply.

After your first cardmember anniversary, you will receive a one-time 10,000-mile discount. TPG values ​​10,000 mile points at $150.

You can also earn a second 10,000 mile point after you spend $20,000 on the card in a calendar year.

Additionally, if you spend $40,000 with the card in a calendar year, you’ll receive two global Economy Plus seat upgrades.

That’s a long list of points that covers everything from grocery delivery to car rentals and hotel bookings, but it also helps offset the United Quest card’s higher annual fee.

Some of these benefits will be easier to use than others. For example, if you don’t regularly rent cars with Avis or Budget or book through JSX, these benefits may be more difficult to maximize. Others, such as Instacart points and hotel deals, may be more valuable to cardholders.

Generally speaking, if you fly United regularly, you’ll love the points and free checked bags this card offers. If you’re pursuing United membership, the extra PQPs this card earns will accelerate your progress.

Earn miles with the United Quest Card

In addition to United Airlines’ purchases, United Discovery Card Earn bonus miles in multiple categories. With this card you will get:

  • Earn 8 miles for every $1 spent on United flights
  • Earn 5 miles for every $1 spent on hotel stays at leading hotels and resorts
  • Earn 3 miles per $1 spent on all other United purchases
  • Earn 2 miles for every $1 spent on dining, select streaming purchases, and other travel purchases
  • Earn 1 mile per $1 spent on all other purchases

Use the United Quest Card to earn bonus miles on general travel and dining purchases, as well as United purchases. Still, you’ll find similar or better earnings in these categories on other travel cards.

Redeem miles with the United Quest Card

You can use United MileagePlus miles to book flights on United or its partners, such as Air Canada, Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines. You can choose to use a minimum of 5,000 miles to book domestic routes on United and use more miles to fly business class to Asia on All Nippon Airways.

You can also redeem your miles for non-flight items, including United Club memberships, in-flight Wi-Fi purchases, TSA Pre-Check, car rentals and hotel stays.

Additionally, you can transfer miles to Marriott Bonvoy, but the value you get from your miles using any of these options is lower than when booking a flight using these options.

Andrea Rotondo, director of content operations at TPG, recently redeemed 6,000 United miles for a one-way economy class flight between Frankfurt and Vienna.

Low-cost mile redemptions aren’t limited to domestic flights; you can also score great deals on international travel.

Travel writer Rachel Craft used 88,000 United miles to redeem a one-way business class ticket on Ethiopian Airlines from Denver to Antananarivo, Madagascar. If she paid in cash, the flight would have cost her about $9,000.

What cards compete with United Quest cards?

Is the United Quest Card Worth It?

The $350 annual fee might seem a bit high, but if you max out your $200 in TravelBank cash and check a standard bag on four one-way United flights per year, you’ll come out ahead.
