Spanish artist Sebas Velasco explores a series of paintings that explore urban landscapes and human stories. Recently, on display at Velasco’s debut solo exhibition at the Museum of History in Bosnia and Herzegovina, “Morning Will Change Everything” was inspired by the song of the same name by Sarajevo band Indexi. The series features a complex series of socio-economic narratives extracted from decades of travel and research in the former Yugoslav state. Velasco’s paintings depict parking lots, residential streets and portraits. Velasco’s work is a kind of expressive celebration of his passion, elevating moments of humanity and empathy in the face of a world of changing territorial and identity.
