Hilton breakfast: when and where

You might be wondering: “Does Hilton have free breakfast?” Or, maybe you’re not sure if Hilton respects elite status and gets you free breakfast the next time you stay. Either way, you come to the right place.

This guide will discuss which Hilton brands offer breakfast for all guests, as well as breakfast options that Hilton usually has to use in honor of the benefits of Gold and Diamond Elite members as Myway. So, let’s dive in.

Hilton Honor Brand Free Breakfast

Some Hilton Honors brands offer free breakfast for all guests, regardless of how they book or the elite status tier. Specifically, you can expect to get a free breakfast at the following Hilton brands:

  • Hilton Embassy Suites
  • Hampton’s
  • Homewood Suites in Hilton
  • HOME2 HILTON Home2 Suites
  • Hilton’s Livsmart Studios
  • Sparks of Hilton (North American hotels only)
  • Hilton’s TRU

However, it is always a good idea to confirm before booking your stay. You can check out the hotel’s official website and scroll down to the Facilities section to quickly determine if your property offers free breakfast for all guests. For example, here is the Hilton amenities section in Hampton, New York City:

If a free breakfast is required for all guests, you can filter by the property that provides free breakfast when searching for hotels on the Hilton website. Here is a sample of Hilton Hotel in New York City, with free breakfast:

How to get Hilton Honorary Elite status

To win the Hilton Golden Status, you need 40 nights, 20 accommodations or 75,000 calendar years. Meanwhile, it takes 60 nights, 30 times, or 120,000 basic points per calendar year to get Hilton Diamond Status.

But some credit cards offer automatic Hilton Honor Elite identity. In particular, this is a card that offers gold or diamond status as a card person:

Information on the Hilton Aspire Card has been collected independently by Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

So even if you don’t stay in the Hilton brand often to win the Hilton status organically, you can still ensure the benefits of identity as one of the above cards.

Bottom line

Some Hilton hotels include breakfast for all guests; you can easily filter search results on the Hilton website to display properties that offer free breakfast.

If you have a Hilton Honor Gold or Diamond Elite status, you will usually get a free continental breakfast at a hotel abroad and daily food and beverage credit at a hotel within the United States, which is the food and beverage credit for many U.S. properties, and the global Hilton motto is usually not enough to cover breakfast. However, if you usually don’t eat breakfast and prefer drinking or food at the hotel later in the day, you might like it.

Although TPG’s Carly Helfand likes the way Hilton offers breakfast for elite members, I think Hilton Honors should give members a choice. If the Food and Beverage Credit is designed to give members flexibility, the program should allow members to choose between continental breakfast and food and beverage credit for each stay.

As a diamond member, I usually avoid being with Hilton when I know I’ll get food and drink credit instead of a free breakfast for two. However, I have some excellent Hiltons and breakfasts outside of the US, and the International Hiltons usually offer a full buffet, not just the continental breakfast you need.
