“Big Ball” is a formal full-time government employee

Although Elon Musk He has said he largely stepped down from the so-called Ministry of Government Efficiency (DOGE), where he had at least three early agents and main lieutenants recently became full-time government employees in the entire government acquisition.
According to documents viewed by Wired, Edward Coristine, Luke Farritor and Ethan Shaotran’s employment names in the General Services Administration (GSA) have been officially translated into a full-time full-time full-time full-time full-time government employee category, which limits its time in the government to 130 days.
Coristine, who won “Big Ball” online, previously worked for a telecom company known for hiring former Blackhat Hackers, turned full-time with Farritor on May 31. Shaotran is full-time on April 10.
Wired first reported in early February that Coristine, Farritor and Shaotran were brought by Musk’s Doge. Then, they gained unprecedented access to the government system. Prior to joining Doge, they made connections with Musk-owned companies: Farritor, who was intern at SpaceX, Coristine worked at Neuralink for three months, and Shaotran attended Xai Hackathon last October.
Since January, the three have access to dozens of federal agencies in addition to the GSA, including the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Education, the Department of Homeland Security, the Social Security Bureau, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and more. They are also linked to major changes in federal government agencies: France is closely linked to the demolition of the U.S. international development agency, and Coristine is reportedly one of the leaders of the program, linked to President Donald Trump’s “gold medal” visas, which sell for $5 million.
It is unclear whether the new name will affect its ability to maintain access to institutions other than the GSA.
Coristine, Farritor and Shaotran, each maintains their “Senior Consultant” title, according to the documentation viewed by Wired. Coristine and Farritor have brought some of the biggest salaries to government employees through their “general timeline” employee rankings. Their salary rating is GS-15, one of the highest levels, and Shaotran lowers it one step in the GS-14 step. Coristine, Farritor and Shaotran did not seem to have earned their salaries through the GSA when they were special government employees.
Another early staff member, Kyle Schutt, also appeared to have changed the employment classification at least twice, but currently appears to be listed as a special government employee in the document seen by WIRED.
The White House and the GSA did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Although Musk clearly left the Trump administration last week, Doge showed no signs of suspending his work in government agencies. Last week, Wired reported urgency at agencies including the Office of Personnel Management, the USDA, the Labor Department and the Interior Department. Federal workers told Wade that they were asked to review quickly and potentially cut contracts, especially those related to human resources.
Farritor and Coristine, as well as other members of Musk’s early Doge team, such as Sam Corcos and Gavin Kliger, have met with many departments in recent days, and the new Doge branch has been detailed to different agencies.
According to Wired, Doji seems to be actively recruiting.
