In the scene of a black woman at a music dinner: June Ambrose in a black bibhu mohapatra look, Lori Harvey in a white Alexander McQueen dress, Claire Sulmers in a Christian Siriano gown, + More!

The first Black Women at the music dinner hosted by the Connie Orlando Foundation is an amazing celebration of Black Women who shape the music industry and I am really honored to be in the room.

The intimate dinner at the BET Awards Weekend brings together pioneers from all corners of the industry to recognize not only their incredible contribution to music, but also their efforts to enhance the community. That night was a fundraising campaign to support breast cancer awareness and research, bringing purpose and strength together.

This brilliant and outstanding Connie Orlando generously invited me, shocked in Givenchy’s large short-sleeved cocktail dress, effortlessly setting the tone for an evening full of elegance and intention.

The Connie Orlando Foundation’s mission is to enhance underserved communities through education, mentoring and health advocacy, bringing depth and purpose to the night’s celebrations.

Niecy Nash illuminated the room with her infectiousness and presented June Ambrose with the Vision of Vision Award in an Andrew GN dress. Maybe who won such an award better than June, which has influenced the fashion and music industry as a whole. Ambrose chose an all-black Bible Mohapatra ensemble that is bizarre and stylish.

Ciara also shines with her daughter Sienna in a black Bishme Cromartie suit while Lori Harvey wears a white Alexander McQueen Maxi dress to bring a relaxing coolness to the carpet.

Muni Long’s presence is as radiant as her voice, showing up in Hanifa’s striped Bodycon mini dress. Her clear heels and Updo hairstyle are the ideal components to tie her look together.

Surrounded by so many inspiring women, everyone brings something unique, it’s a joy. On this occasion, I wore a 2025 spring dress by Christian Siriano, designed Jessica Rich’s designer and silver heels.

I want to personally thank Connie for meeting me and giving flowers to many numerous flowers that not only define the soundtrack of our lives, but also reshape the industry from within.

Black women in music dinners for more than a moment – it’s a sport. I feel inspired, grateful and proud to witness what happens when black women come together to celebrate, honor and elevate each other.
