Marriott Hotel Bonvoy Bold Credit Card Review: Full Details

Marriott Hotel Bonvoy Bold Credit Card Overview
Marriott Hotel BonvoyBold® Credit Card (see Fees & Fees) is a Marriott entry-level personal co-brand credit card. This unfamiliar fee card provides a way to start winning Marriott Bowater points and enable cardholders to start earning elite status. However, frequent Marriott hotel guests are better off using cards that charge an annual fee and offer more privileges. Card rating*: ⭐⭐½
*Card ratings are based on the opinions of TPG editors and are not affected by the card issuer.
Marriott Hotel Bold Bold is the only unfamiliar card in the Marriott hotel family.
As they say, you get what you pay for, and so on with credit cards. Therefore, Bonvoy Bold sacrifices some income potential and general benefits to compensate for the lack of annual fees compared to his peers with rising prices.
Nevertheless, this may be a good option for those who have just entered their trip.
We recommend at least 670 credit scores for the best chance of approval.

This matches the highest welcome bonus we saw on the card, the last one offered two months ago. If you’ve been following this card, now is a good time to apply for it.
Additionally, it is important to note that to be eligible for approval you must:
As we all know, what is confusing about Corbrand’s Marriott brand is the qualification requirements, and Marriott’s Bonvoy Bold is also among them. Be sure to check your eligibility before applying, as these requirements usually require you not to hold another NYC card, or to receive a welcome bonus on another NYC word for a period of time.

The Bold Benefits of Marriott Hotels
The Marriott Hotel Bonvoy Bold card has automatic silver elite status. This BONVOY status includes a 10% bonus on points earned during your stay, priority checkout, free in-room Wi-Fi and a guaranteed 10% bonus for booking.
The card also comes with five Elite Night Points a year. These elite night points can help you reach a higher status level, providing more valuable privileges when living in a Marriott hotel.
In addition, cardholders will receive the following benefits:
- Luggage Delay Insurance: Due to luggage delays within six hours, you can repay up to $100 per day.
- Reimbursement of lost luggage: If your or a direct family member’s inspection or carry-on luggage is damaged, stolen or lost by the carrier, each passenger can be paid up to $3,000.
- Travel delay reimbursement: If your flight is delayed for more than 12 hours or requires overnight stays, you can pay up to $500 per traveler, such as meals and hotel fees.
- Purchase protection: This covers your new purchase for 120 days to prevent damage or theft (up to $500 per item).
- concierge: Visa Signature Concierge Service is available 24 hours a day to help you book entertainment tickets, make dinner reservations and more.
Rarely will find that the unfull credit card offers luggage and travel delay coverage, making the Marriott Bonvoy Bold more attractive to travelers who use it to pay for travel.

Win points on Bonvoy Bold at Marriott Hotel
Marriott Hotel Bonvoy Bold earns:
Remember that every 3 points you earn in your Marriott hotel stay is the points you earn through the Bonvoy program. Between 10 basis points and 10% of Silver Elite identity, you will spend up to 14 total points on a qualified Bonvoy Hotel and reserved with the Bonvoy Bold Card. According to TPG’s June 2025 valuation, this is equivalent to a 9.8% return on spending.
It is worth mentioning that these earning rates are not comparable to any other Marriott Bonvoy credit card. All other Marriott cards offer higher income rates in Marriott dormitories and daily expenses (some have some other bonus categories).
If you have a general travel credit card, such as a Chase SapphirePreferred® card (see Rates and Fees) or Capital One Venture Rewards credit card, it is best to use one of these cards for most travel purchases.

Redemption Points at Bonvoy Bold, Marriott Hotel
With a Bonvoy credit card, you usually get the most value from your points when you use it for the rewarded Bonvoy Hotels rewards. This is certainly the case with Bonvoy Bold.
The benefit of redeeming Marriott points to earn a reward is that you will get your fifth night free on a qualified property, saving 20% on a five-night stay.
Beginners who may not have redeemed points balances can also take advantage of Marriott’s cash + points redemption option, where you can use points to pay for a portion of your hotel accommodation and use cash to pay for the rest.
TPG’s premium points and Miles writer Katie Genter spent five nights at Le Meridien n’fis in Marrakech, Morocco, taking advantage of the “stay 5, pay 4” feature, with just 52,500 Bonvoy points.

Transfer points at Marriott Hotel Bonvoy Bold
Unlike many other hotel brand cards, Bonvoy Bold has a decent transfer option.
You can transfer Marriott Points to an impressive list of nearly 40 airline partners, usually at a 3:1 ratio. This is rarely the best redemption option, but for airline programs that don’t have other transfer partners (such as Korea Air SKYPASS), this can be useful for closing points or mile balances.
Plus, every 60,000 point transfers, you will receive a bonus of 5,000 miles with most partners.

Is Bonvoy Bold worth it?
Since it is reasonable to not have a year ago fee, beginners may find that Bonvoy Bold’s automatic silver sperm state has enough value to make the card worth it. However, anyone who stays at a Marriott hotel regularly and is willing to pay the annual fee is better off using their 5/24 Chase Slot to get a Marriott card with greater good returns.
Bottom line
While the Marriott Hotel Bonvoy Bold offers some good value for beginners, you may get more value from other travel credit card options, especially when you look at the Marriott Hotel’s Bonvoy card lineup.
These other cards offer bonus prices and additional allowances but make up for their annual fees. But true beginners (perhaps those who oppose adding annual fees in their wallets) can find reliable value in Bonvoy Bold.
While this isn’t the most meaningful card on the market, it could be a useful entry point for the Bonvoy program, especially for those who want to avoid annual fees.
