Here, I mentioned some reasons why location can be a factor in your job search. Don’t bring them easily.
Beware of scammers during job hunting
Jeff Altman, a large hunter. I am a career coach who can help people seek jobs, hire, manage and lead more effectively, and be more effective in the workplace. Now, the question I get is, why is it important to consider a position in your job search? I think this is a good question.
I know many job seekers, especially those with visas, are willing to go anywhere. This is an amazing quality. But know that employers don’t want you to come to them or move to them.
They believe that the interview process will become more difficult for those willing to go anywhere. Therefore, one factor is the employer’s thinking process, that is, they are less accepting of the relocation situation than the locals. Now, if you are local, it’s a job on the commute.
I know, once, our family moved to where I worked for two hours. It was a tough commute. Yes, I work every day on the bus.
I slept on the bus every road. It was a tough couple of years and we ended up moving elsewhere while I worked remotely. So location is a factor in whether you can work in bad weather, whether you can even go to work because remembering me about bad weather, two hours, and then it snowed and you didn’t get anywhere.
Therefore, employers like to see people in a reasonable proximity. For some of you, you live in a location, or will work in a place where there is no other employer near you. So you have to move again.
And, the impact on you and your family can be a problem, knowing that you are going to get to a place is a constant action that won’t be attractive. In addition, taxation plays a role. Why is it important to consider location? You are in a low tax area and then move to a high tax area.
One person I mentored underestimated what the cost of living would be and came to me to try to figure out how to re-make the companies that made her say to them and if I don’t move to where you are in Seattle, I have the ability to do so at this price. But then we tried a case and they added the offer. Therefore, there are many factors that will play a role.
