At Joy Machine, five artists bring fresh air to join Jaunt for a joint exhibition – Colossal

Joy Machine is excited to announce a co-exhibition with Jaunt. Opened in Chicago this week Ventus Paintings, sculptures and prints by Cody Hudson, Seonna Hong (formerly), Seth Pimentel, Stevie Shao and Scott Sueme.
Jaunt (formerly) was founded and curated by Jeroen Smeets, a travel project that sends artists from around the world to experience new locations and cultures. Back home, the artist created a limited edition screen print inspired by his travels.
Outside our comfort zone, we can enhance our senses and provide us with new experiences and inspirations. Commando is a new perspective and gust of energy that flows through the artist’s creative process, allowing them to reposition and build new currents.
for VentusSmeets gathered a group of artists who all participated in the project, heading to places like Shanghai, Mexico City, and Jeju Island, as well as the towns of Sheldon, Washington State and Joseph, Oregon. Everyone makes their experiences and observations possible when creating new artworks.
Chicago has been traveling abroad to some extent. The first exhibition was in the city, and over the years, great artists who lived and worked in Chicago, including Cody Hudson, David Heao, Leeds Flores and others participated in the competition. Jaunt and Joy Machine are pleased to showcase these five artists with their partner, many of whom are on display here for the first time.
Ventus From June 13 to August 2. RSVP is here to open the ceremony reception.
